Season 6 of Real Housewives of New Jersey should be pretty interesting. Production was moved up to accommodate Teresa Giudice before her trial on 39 counts of fraud in February 2014. Here are some items we can look forward to in the new season.
Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline Laurita will not be returning for another season. There are reports that both women were fired and did not quit the show. Caroline is filming a pilot episode of a spin off called Manzo’d With Kids. Since the women are sister in laws there is a possibility Jacqueline will appear on Caroline’s show. There has been no word if the two women will make a guest appearance on season 6.
Teresa Giudice told the Bradenton Herald she is looking forward to filming season 6. She said “We have four new people, and going forward I think it’s going to be really good. I’m looking forward to it.” Tre is probably relived her nemesis Caroline is off the show. The show was beyond boring last season and Teresa said she is over the family drama. Having new people to fight with will bring new life into the show.
Teresa and her family seem to enjoy being on camera, but surely the reason she is looking forward to the new season is the paycheck. Tre has big legal bills in dealing with her fraud case. She is also being sued by Leyla Milani-Khoshbin. She claims Teresa used the same name as her for her haircare line. Tre’s husband Juicy Joe has other legal problems in addition to the fraud case. He is finally going to trial for using his brother’s identity to obtain a driver’s license. The trial date is November 19. 2013. In 2011 Joe was charged with DUI and lost his license. The Hollywood Gossip is reporting some of the legal mess has already been filmed.
Several sources have confirmed former cast member Dina Manzo has decided to give the show another try. Like Teresa, Dina is motivated by money. She left the show half way through season 2, saying the stress and the drama was too much for her. Dina is currently separated from her husband, Tommy. Her reality show on HGTV is off the air. Girlfriend needs money to pay her divorce lawyer. Also, if Dina and Tommy don’t have a pre-nup she could end up with little or nothing in the divorce.
Dina and Teresa are good friends. They will lean on each other in dealing with the other women and through their legal woes. One thing we won’t see is Dina making up with her sister, Caroline. The women have been estranged for several years. They did not publicly reveal the cause of the rift and want to keep it off camera. Dina did tell North Jersey a little nugget that gives us a hint of what happened between the once close sisters. Dina said “I think this world of, I don’t want to call it entertainment, but the fame of it all has affected both of us in different ways.” If Caroline was still a housewife Dina would find another way to make money.
She previously said she would support Teresa’s events by showing up after the cast and crew left. Dina can be hard to deal with. Like Caroline she can be cold until she is close to you. We saw this side of Dina when Danielle Staub was trying to be her friend. Jacqueline got into it with Dina in the season one finale, saying she was not going to lie for her anymore. In season one when she was setting up for the Project Ladybug event Dina barked at everyone. Caroline said when Dina is working she goes into bitch mode. Dina’s tag line was “If you think I’m a bitch, bring it.” Dina’s daughter from her first marriage, Lexi, will also be on the show. We can look forward to more of Dina’s over protectiveness and obsession with her daughter. It runs in the family. Caroline treats her adult children the same way.
Dina also talked to North Jersey about her pending divorce. She said “We still live together. I announced my separation a year ago, but Tommy and I have a very special love for each other that will never go away. So, we live in the same house. We love each other. We respect each other. And that’s the way it’s gonna stay whether we get divorced or whether we stay together. I think it’s a really nice place to be with each other. We’re just seeing how things go right now. But there’s always love and respect between us.”
Dina is full of crap. She said on Oprah’s Where Are They Now special that there is no legal separation in New Jersey. If she had money she would have kicked Tommy out of the house and took care of herself. Dina is spinning her situation to save face.
I’m thinking the dynamic between Melissa Gorga and Teresa will be much different in the new season. Tre’s sister in law and J-Lo wanna be has accused Teresa of having an army to back her up when going after Melissa. Teresa did not have an army, but Melissa did. Now that Caroline and Jacqueline are not returning to the show, she will lose two allies in proving Tre is a horrible person. Mel is trying to advance her music career. If she is smart she will pay more attention to how she is coming off on camera.
She is in a similar situation as Atlanta housewife NeNe Leakes. Both women want a career beyond reality television but don’t act like people who should be taken seriously in their craft. Wendy Williams made this point about NeNe. She said the Georgia Peach should not get into petty fights on camera if she wants to have a good reputation in Hollywood. Mel should take the same advice. Also, the viewers have had enough of the family feud. Mel said she is over the drama and doesn’t want to fight with Tre anymore. If the J-Lo wanna be doesn’t put her money where her mouth is and ratings tank again this season it will be her fault.
Mel got a lot of backlash for items in her book Love Italian Style. Jezebel said the book promotes marital rape. She wrote that when she decided to please her husband before taking care of her needs her marriage stopped being so rocky. Melissa thinks she discovered the ultimate way to a happy marriage, but in reality she lets her husband Poison Joe work her like a puppet. We can look forward to more of Poison Joe lording over his kingdom. When you combine the family drama with the faux traditional family values it makes Mel a boring person to watch. The cherry on top is being subjected to Melissa’s horrible music. I’m sure we will see more of Melissa working on her career this season, too.
All About the Real Housewives is reporting Teresa’s friend and Posche boutique owner Kim DePaola will be back as well. It will be interesting to see what controversy will surround her this season. Kim’s annual Posche fashion show took place in October and was not filmed for the show. There was no drama so it would not make air even if it was filmed. Radar Online reported that Caroline and Teresa’s cousin Kathy Wakile were not invited to the party. A source told the website “She can’t stand Caroline. They aren’t friends. There’s no reason to be fake about it. Kim D only invited her friends.” Also according to RadarOnline Kim and Kathy are not friends. Jacqueline and Melissa were not able to attend the event. Teresa and Joe were the only cast members to attend the fashion show. With the troublemakers not in attendance it’s no surprise the event was quiet.
Unfortunately, Kathy was asked back to the show. She has no personality. Her husband, Rich, is an obnoxious pig. Kathy was probably asked back in order to get her sister, Rosie Pierri, on camera. Rosie is a fan favorite. There is nothing else to say.
Bravo stuck to the theme of women in legal trouble and needing money when they hired twin sisters Nicole Napolitano and Teresa Napolitano Aprea. Per All About the Real Housewives both sisters have civil judgments against them. Teresa owes money to Advanced Orthopedics and Sport Medicine Institute. Nicole is in debt to credit card company Capital One. A source told Faux Reality Entertainment “Family is everything to these two and you won’t see the backstabbing that has become common place with Joe and Melissa Gorga.” It’s going to be fun to watch the new girls teach the veterans how to act!!
Amber Marchese is the fourth new member of the cast. She is a close friend of the Napolitano twins. Amber is a cancer survivor and highly educated. She runs Vici Fitness, which promises to make you bikini ready. On her Facebook page she writes “Life has thrown me some major curve balls, so I have learned rather quickly in life to get stronger, tougher, and more powerful to conquer what life can throw at all of us. I will help you find that warrior within you. “Veni, Vidi, Vici”!!!!!!” It will be great to see someone positive on the show.
