Public displays of affection gross me out anyway but over-the-top ones from reality stars who may or may not be selling a faux romance to the cameras gross me out even more. I could barely watch this video. Are there actually some of you out there who buy Sean Lowe’s song and dance? He’s just too genuine for me – not authentic at all – but genuine in a fabricated golly shucks sort of way. I can’t stand the smarmy earnestness! Sorry! OK, I got that out of my system, let’s get back to the Viennese Waltz. Sean Lowe chose 2012 as the inspiration for “The Best Year of My Life” themed Dancing With the Stars episode because it’s the year he met (and supposedly fell in love but also made tons of money as a reality star) Catherine Giudice. So, naturally, to capitalize on their fifteen minutes and to send the little old ladies’ hearts into overdrive he took a moment out from the dance to leave partner Petra Murgatroyd and kiss Catherine in the stands. Meh.
Anyone else think this is a little too contrived? No. Just me? OK, let’s move on. Perhaps this was also a reaction to the Petra rumors. A lot of viewers seem to think Sean’s been getting a little too close to his dancing partner and Catherine’s worried but I doubt that’s the case. Sean and Catherine are way too lucrative together. They won’t split until it’s in their best interest to split.
So watch the dance and tell me what you think. Am I a cruel, hard-hearted woman or does this all seem genuine and casual to you? Did you grimace at the part where Sean Lowe kisses Catherine? I’ve got to give the guy some credit. He can commit. I would have busted out laughing if I had to solo in the middle of the dance floor like that. He’s obviously someone to watch out for. Sean Lowe’s in it to win it and using everything he has (relationship included minus the dignity) to get that trophy.
