Tonight on TLC the Brown Family returns with a new episode of SISTER WIVES called, “Christmas Surprise” On tonight’s show Robyn has a special gift for Kody. Did you watch last week’s episode? We did and we recapped it here for you.
On last week’s episode with builders putting the finishing touches on their new homes, one major hurdle still remained for all of them — closing on their mortgages? Will all four wives be able to afford their new home or will one of them be left with tears of disappointment? We also got a first look at Robyn and Christine’s new homes.
On tonight’s show the Browns will celebrate Christmas a week later in hopes of getting everybody moved into their new houses, but will the extra time be enough? Meanwhile, Kody adds more stress by challenging his wives to a contest and Robyn has a special gift for Kody.

On tonight’s episode of Sister Wives the wives are moving into their homes. That is all except Meri and Mariah isn’t happy about that. She really wanted to have Christmas in the new house. That’s they why the rest of the family have pushed Christmas back until January 2nd . It gives Meri an extra ten days to move into her home.
However on to happier notes the rest of the families are enjoying their new homes. Except Kody can’t help making jokes about them living in a gated community as if it was compound. Christine hates that word because of the connotations but Kody can’t help laughing. Sure they’re not like FDLS and yet a polygamous family living on a private rode will draw comparisons.
Still nothing will ruin the spirit of Christmas. Kody’s mother wasn’t able to cook her famous Caramels this year. So he’s asking his wives to do a cooking contest to see who cooks them best besides his mom. He joked whoever did would be deserving of truly being his wife. They will take him to task for that but they’re also excited about a cooking competition.
Janelle has her own secret weapon though. Her mom is Kody’s mom sister wife. Their parents met after Janelle and Kody started courting. So she has the upper hand in winning the contest.
It doesn’t take long before Mariah begins acting out again. She just wants to move in and basically refuses to understand all the reason why they can’t. When her grandmother was visiting and they were showing her the house, Mariah tried to talk her parents into simply letting her stay. Yeah right!
Then in a second incident, she was cooking with her sisters when she didn’t listen to Maddie about putting water in the pans. The crepes they were making burned up. Maddie was joking by getting her sisters to admit she was right until Mariah takes it too personally and storms off.
Meri heard about it and was wondering how she could best help her daughter when she shared her concerns with Kody. For some reason they were wires crossed and suddenly Mariah’s drama has turned into their drama. Kody feels that Meri is being dramatic and making things about herself when she wants Kody to help calm Mariah down.
Kody does go to talk to Mariah and he makes her understand that she still has a home but it’s time to let things happen the way they will over getting frustrated if they don’t happen the way she wants.
Christmas Day otherwise known as January 2nd was a great success. The children all ran over to Janelle’s house to celebrate. The kids are enjoying their presents when Robyn gives her’s to Kody. He gets choked up seeing her new social security card with his last name on it. The whole family is excited hearing what she did with some impromptu clapping.
Christmas is winding down and there’s only the contest left. Meri and Robyn feel too tired to make caramels so they go out and buy some. They throw the candies into one bowl and melt them. They felt it fair what with Janelle cooking with her mom and Christine making several batches throughout the day.
The winner of the contest is Christine. Kody could tell that Meri and Robyn’s caramels weren’t his mom’s recipe but he didn’t know they bought till much later. Don’t know how he could have missed it with all of their guilty giggling.
Maybe not lying or cheating should be part of their family mission statement. Because after their contest they continue struggling with their statement and the kids have been trying to ditching secretly here and there. The whole business of getting 20 people to agree on something is much more difficult than they thought.
They had only table the statement once again when some good news came in. Meri got her house. Mona had called her towards the end of the day. Kody went with Meri to tell Mariah and finally that girl is smiling like she means it. You would think now maybe they won’t be any more drama. But this family tends to be dramatic.
