Tonight on THE BACHELORETTE Desiree Hartsock continues and it’s one of the most dramatic evenings ever on ABC with the culmination of the two-part season finale. Did you catch last week’s episode? We did and we recapped it for you.
On last week’s show Part 1 of the finale began with Desiree narrating her thoughts on the final three remaining contestants, and she revealed that her feelings for Brooks were different from the other two. Is this the whole ‘you want what you can’t have’ thing going on? She adds that she can picture Brooks as her husband, but her first date was with Drew and then Chris. Even after that, Desiree still admits that she feels stronger about Brooks than the other two in a confessional.
On tonight’s show emotions run high as Desiree sits down with Chris Harrison, live, to talk about her three final bachelors from this season – Brooks, Chris and Drew. She will take viewers back to those final days in Antigua when Brooks, the man she fell in love with, decided to go home. She will discuss her feelings in those finals days, her relationships with the final three men and the heart-wrenching decisions that she had to make that changed their lives forever. Brooks, Chris and Drew are back to discuss the shocking outcome of the season. It’s the poignant ending to Desiree’s heartfelt journey to find true love. After breaking down in tears with Chris Harrison, she is ready to face the final two men. In a moving confession, she tells them that Brooks has decided to leave. How will the men react when they learn of her feelings for Brooks?

RECAP: Brooks leaving has broke Desiree’s heart, it is really hard to have pictured a marriage with him, it is the worse feeling in the world. Desiree thinks it came down to the home town date, Brooks realized that he didn’t love her and she doesn’t know where to go from here.
Chris goes to see Desiree and she starts crying again, she says she is ok when people don’t ask otherwise, she balls her eyes out. Desiree tells Chris that she honestly just wants to go home at this point. Chris reminders her that Drew and Chris are still there and asks her if she could see herself with one of the two remaining guys? Desiree doesn’t know. Chris advises that there is going to be a Rose Ceremony and what she chooses to do with it is up to her. Desiree has come on the show to find love, but she feels like she lost all hope.
Chris meets with the guys and tells them that Brooks has left and it is not his place to tell them, Desiree then comes out to speak to them. Desiree is having a hard time to find the words, but she tells the guys that Brooks choose to leave on his own and it turned her world upside down but it proves that love is unpredictable and a two way street. Further, she doesn’t want Brooks leaving to ruin the rest of time with them. Desiree is going to ask them if they accept a rose and she wants an honest reply, Desiree starts to cry and you can see that the two guys are feeling so bad and awkward. First is Drew, he accepts it. Second is Chris and he accepts it as well.
Chris is in love with Desiree and really has a hard time watching her cry, Drew is in love as well and so ready to propose; both look like they would never walk away from her.
Chris talks to the live audience and everyone believes that Desiree is going to find love tonight and many think Brooks is coming back.
Normally, at this time, Desiree would introduce the guys to her family but given everything that has happened she has decided not to do that. Instead, Desiree has decided to spend the day with Drew who is madly in love with her and wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Desiree is just not feeling it with Drew and knows she has to tell him. Desiree starts to cry, she tells Drew that she would be so lucky to have him in her life but she doesn’t see a future with him because she can’t be 100% into him. Drew didn’t see this happening, he looks heartbroken. Desiree claims that she didn’t want to hurt him, but she just knows. Drew thanks her for being honest and really can’t say anything else. Chris tells her that he wants her to be as in love with him as he is with her and it hurts a lot but, well, he gets up and walks away clearly crushed and very confused because he didn’t see coming out of this without her.
Time to find out Chris’ fate, he lets her know that he wants to be there for her. Chris pours his heart out and tells Desiree that he loves her and felt bad that he couldn’t console her out of respect to Drew when she told them that Brooks had left. Desiree’s heart melts, since day one Chris has been by her side and she thinks they do have something that could last. When Desiree is with Chris she really feels like she has known him forever. Desiree is confident that she is going to find the person she is meant to be with. Their last date goes amazingly, the two have a lot of fun and put the past few days behind them.
It’s late at night, Drew and Desiree share drinks and toast, he tells her that their relationship is real. Desiree tells Drew that she wants him to meet her family and she choose him, because she thinks there is a lifetime possibility. Chris gives Desiree a journal with a poem in it and she is truly touched by his affection. Wow, no matter how much Desiree says that she is happy, you can see in her face that she is clearly not happy and still broken hearted.
Chris brings back Catherine and Sean, former contestants and asks their opinion on what they think about what is going on with Desiree. Sean thinks that maybe Desiree might fall for Chris and have her happily ever after. Chris asks Catherine if when Chris finds out just how much Desiree was in love with Brooks will he continue with Desiree? Catherine thinks he will. Chris then asks Desiree’s friends what they think about the whole thing, they thought that everything was leaning towards Brooks.
Desiree says that it was really hard to send Drew home, but she had to make emotional decisions before she could get to today. Chris meets Desiree’s parents and her brother, first Chris tells them that he has found the “one” even though he came in as a skeptic. Chris claims that he first thought she was attractive. Desiree’s brother puts Chris through the ringer with a lot of tough questions and Desiree is feeling uncomfortable, thank goodness her father takes him away for a walk. Chris asks Desiree’s father for her hand in marriage, he would like to know that her family feels comfortable with that. Dad gives his permission.
Desiree’s brother sits alone with her and asks about Brooks, she says she was hurt because she put a lot into the relationship but she has gotten over it.
It is Desiree’s final day in Antigua, the biggest day in Chris’s life as he is going to ask the woman he loves to marry him; he loves her with all his heart.
it is time for Chris pour his heart out to Desiree, but first she is going to tell him everything about how strong her feelings were for Brooks. Chris is 100% committed to this, he has picked out a ring and is ready to propose to Desiree, he can’t wait for her to say that she loves him too. Chris tells Desiree that he couldn’t be happier to live this dream with her, to make memories together and he loved his time away with her on the deserted island and all the happiness he sees in her eyes when he reads poetry to her; he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Chris goes to get down on one knee and she tells him that she has a few things to say too.
Desiree tells him that the past few weeks have been incredible, she was town apart by Brooks leaving, but she was torn between the two of them. Desiree tells Chris that Brooks clouded her and made her not see what was right in front of her face and she is so grateful that he never gave up on her, she loves him, she loves him so much. Chris gets down on one knee, he proposes and she says yes, one thousand times.
