On last week’s show after discovering interesting news about someone in Marcel’s inner circle, Klaus and Rebekah came together to attempt to unravel Marcel’s empire from within in spite of Elijah’s concerns. They enlisted help from Sophie, who was reluctant to get involved for fear of the wrath of Marcel’s secret weapon, Davina. Rebekah sneakily invited an oblivious Cami to a huge vampire party thrown by Marcel, managing to anger Marcel in the process. Elsewhere, Hayley learned from the witch Sabine that the supernatural creatures of New Orleans were reacting to the potential existence of a hybrid baby.
On tonight’s show with the annual Dauphine Street music festival around the corner, Davina, itching for a night out, convinces Marcel to let her attend. Marcel cautiously obliges but asks Cami to keep a watchful eye on Davina. Agnes (guest star Karen Kaia Livers) convinces Hayley to visit a mysterious doctor in the bayou where she makes a shocking discovery. Meanwhile, Klaus takes a special interest in Cami, who reveals some alarming information about her past, and a determined Rebekah is on a mission to get to the bottom of a recent strange encounter involving Elijah.

Klaus talks about good and evil and how people do what’s in their best interest. We see Davina staring at Elijah in his coffin. She pulls out the dagger and then plunges it back in. Klaus is talking to Cammie with his good and evil talk. He tells her he came to New Orleans to find answers and instead found a pregnant woman who needed his protection.
He tells her he found another young woman held in captivity by a tyrant. He says he wants to free the one. Cammie says he needs professional therapy with his good vs evil obsession. He says he prefers to talk to her and offers her a job as a stenographer to write his memoirs. He says he should tell his story and that it will give them time to talk about her and Marcel.
Klaus tells her the Quarter is on the verge of war. Klaus vs Marcel and his powerful witch and an army of vampires. She panics but he compels her and tells her not to be frightened. She says she’s not scared anymore and asks how he did it. He says it’s a vampire trick and he’ll tell her all about it – after they talk about Marcel.
Marcel says Elijah and the Originals are like cockroaches that can’t be killed. He tells her he has to give Elijah back. Davina whines and says she wants to go to tonight’s street festival. He says it’s too dangerous and she fusses. He says no again firmly and she tells him that he forgets how powerful she is. She tells him she can make someone’s blood boil with her mind and then she heats Marcel up. He wipes sweat off his brow and then says he will let her go under certain circumstances.
Klaus finds Cammie at the bar. She asks why she remembers when he walks up that he’s a vamp who’s mind controlling her but that she forgets it once he walks away. She asks how he’s affecting her neurons and he applauds her for being a scholar. He asks what news she has from Marcel and she tells him that Marcel wants her to take a young girl he’s mentoring around. She tells him she says no and Klaus says she is to change her answer. She’s not happy and he tells her that he likes the way her mind works and that under other circumstances they could have been friends. He orders her to call Marcel and tell her she’ll babysit the girl at the street festival.
Agnes chastises Hayley and says she’s overdue for a prenatal check-up. Hayley insists she’s fine and that she can’t go to the doctor anyway. Rebekah tells her that many people would kill to have a child and she’s surprised that she’s not taking better care of herself. Agnes says she found a secret doctor out in the bayou that won’t tell on them and Hayley agrees.
Rebekah is checking Google earth and looking at buildings trying to find the attic that Elijah is being held in. Klaus tells her that he’s got another strategy going. He says that since Marcel hasn’t returned their brother that he’s no longer in charge of that decision. He plans to try and make a deal with Davina to get her on their side.
Josh asks Diego if there’s a fast track to getting a daylight ring. He says that you get it when you’re invited into the inner circle. Josh reminds him there’s an opening now that Thierry went rogue. Diego says that Thierry didn’t deserve what he got – says he was just showing off for Klaus and can’t wait until his old ass is out of town. Rebekah comes in and says she agrees and offers to help him with his Klaus problem.
She says she wants to know some gossip. She tells him that she and Marcel were an item back in the day and wants to know who he’s hooking up with since he’s not giving her any time. He says Marcel is dating the bartender and Rebekah scoffs and says there must be someone more interesting. Diego says if Marcel is seeing someone else it will be nearby in the Quarter.
Marcel wants word sent out that there are no Originals and no witches allowed at the street festival that night. He says he doesn’t want anyone near Cammie or her special guest that night and for everyone to keep their eyes open.
The bar is hopping and a band is playing as Davina comes in smiling. Marcel tells her there are some rules. She says she won’t talk about anything supernatural or him. She tells him he promised not to hover and he backs off a bit.
Out in the bayou, Agnes brings Hayley to the doctor and Hayley doesn’t like the locale. Agnes says it was the only way for her to get away from Marcel’s harassment. Hayley goes in and Agnes makes a call and says – send them in now and take care of it quickly!
Davina watches one of the guys in the band with rapt attention as he plays the fiddle. Cammie and Marcel chat and he says he worries she thought he was a hothead after the incident at his party. Cammie tells him she’ll be off work soon and can hang out with Davina so he can go take care of business. Marcel takes the hint and leaves. She asks who the guy is she’s checking out and she says his name is Tim and they used to go to school together before she was forced to leave. She says she never got to say good-bye and wanted some closure.
Rebekah comes into a church and finds Father Kieran cleaning up. She asks him what happened and he says that St Anne’s used to be the heart of the neighborhood but has been abandoned since a recent massacre – a priest who went nuts and killed a bunch of people. She asks him about the attic and its shutters. He says it’s closed and she asks where it is under compulsion. He tells her and she tells him to forget she was there.
Rebekah opens the door and sees Elijah in his coffin. He doesn’t look good. He opens his eyes and suddenly they’re back in time. He reminds her of the time they went to the opera house in New Orleans. He says that he had to weave this spell to make sure it was really her and not a trick of Davina’s. He says that once Davina took out the dagger it lost its power but she doesn’t know that. Rebekah tells him to wake up so they can leave and he says he’s not ready to go yet. He thinks if he stays that he can work out a truce with Davina so the baby will be safe. He makes her promise to watch out for Hayley and the baby.
The doctor checks out Hayley and says she’s good except for her blood pressure being a little high. The doc goes to get her some medicine. Hayley gets a text from Rebekah and tells her where she is just as she hears a wolf howl. She’s immediately on alert. The doctor draws a shot and comes at Hayley. Hayley fights her off and sees a group of people coming for her. She locks them out of the room and then flees out the window!
In the Quarter, Tim puts his instrument up when Klaus approaches him and compels him to give a message to Davina. Cammie and Davina are looking for Tim and she’s upset he’s not there. Klaus gives him a note to give to Davina and tells him to slip her out the back of the club and to not let her out of his sight.
At the church, Cammie brings Davina in to meet Tim based on the note he gave her. He tells her it’s amazing to see her again and says wow. He asks where she’s been and why she wanted to meet her. She says she likes it because it’s quiet and it can’t be all bad just because one bad thing happened there. Tim asks why she vanished from school. She tells him there was an emergency and she had to go. He asks if she’s coming back and she says no but that she misses seeing him and hearing him play his violin.
Tim says the place has good acoustics and pulls out his violin. He plays for her – a sweet classical sounding song. Cammie sadly looks at the blood on the portraits when Klaus approaches her and says the boy has a gift. She says the massacre that happened there was unnecessary brutality. She asks how a good man could just flip like that. He tells her the world can be an awful place. Cammie says it’s not and neither are people – she says something breaks them down and makes them snap and there are always signs and symptoms. Cammie says the guy who massacred the people there – Sean – was her brother – her twin – and there were no warning signs at all.
She tells him she can’t sleep and that she dreams about what happened and hates that she couldn’t help him. Cammie worries that she could be possessed the same way her brother was. Klaus orders her to leave and enjoy the music and put all of this out of her mind.
Back in the Quarter, Father Kieran finds Marcel who is surprised to see him back in the Quarter – says he didn’t expect him back. He says he can tell based on what Marcel is doing in his attic. He tells him that he knows the Originals are back in town. He says Rebekah came into the church earlier and asked about the attic and she didn’t realize he was using vervain. He also reminds Marcel that he lives in the city because of those who keep his secret. Marcel says the city is thriving because of the vampires.
Josh interrupts them and tells Marcel that Diego lost sight of Davina and Cammie. Marcel walks away from the priest abruptly.
Klaus comes into the sanctuary and compels Tim to go sit down and count to 100,000 so he can talk to Davina. He tells her he assumes she knows who he is and says they should get down to it. He tells her that it’s not fair for Marcel to keep her locked away. She tells him that he keeps her safe and that he’s her friend. Klaus says for a girl caught between the vampire and witches he would be a better friend and would keep her safe and give her her freedom. He asks if Marcel can do it why hasn’t he? He tells her that she doesn’t really need Marcel at all because of all of her problems. He tells her there’s no reason for her to be rotting in an attic while Tim moves on without her.
She starts the spell to make Klaus’ blood boil and he sweats a little and then vamps over fast to grab Tim around the neck. She tells him not to hurt him and Klaus tells her that depends on her. She demands he lets Tim goes and Klaus tells her he doesn’t respond well to demands. She throws a spell and Klaus clamps down. He tells her to swear allegiance to him to save Tim’s life. Davina ramps up her power and aims it at Klaus. All the windows in the church blow out.
Hayley is chased through the bayou and she beats the crap out of her pursuers, staking several. There’s one left but Rebekah breaks his neck. She asks who they are and Hayley says they are witches or warlocks. She says there are more and orders Hayley to run. Rebekah takes several arrows in the abdomen and goes down while Hayley calls for her. She comes to and sits up and sees a mess of half eaten bodies around her. She asks what the hell and calls for Hayley.
In the church, Davina comes to and calls for Tim. She runs into the church looking for him. Klaus gets a call from Rebekah and she tells him that Hayley is gone and about the chewed on bodies. She says Hayley is gone. He tells her to keep looking and that he’s on the way.
Tim begs him not to hurt him and Klaus says he didn’t intend to but since Davina wouldn’t play nice, he’s run out of time… Klaus tosses Tim over the rail and splatters him on to the church floor below. As an afterthought, he tosses his violin after him!
Tim lies gasping for life, broken on the floor of the church when Davina finds him. She tells him she didn’t mean to hurt him. Klaus walks up and says that’s what happens when she gets out of control. He offers to heal Tim if she only asks him. She cries and holds Tim’s head on her lap. She says please and Klaus tells her – for you, with pleasure. He bites his wrist and feeds Tim some blood. Tim comes back to life. Klaus compels Tim and says he will forget everything that happened after he left the concert including seeing Davina. He tells him to take his violin case and remember that he lost the violin.
Davina is heartbroken but Klaus tells her if the witches find out she has a weakness they would hurt Tim. Klaus tells her she owes him a favor. She picks up and holds Tim’s shattered violin. Tim leaves. Klaus leaves. Marcel comes in a few moments later and asks her what happened and what she’s doing there. She answers sharply that she lives there and adds – remember?
At the bayou mansion Klaus appears. He demands to know who took Hayley and killed the attackers. She says she doesn’t know because she had an arrow in her heart. They hear a howl and rush out. Rebekah says that maybe her cousins will know. Klaus comments that her wounds have healed too fast for a werewolf. Rebekah puts an arm around her and tells her that it’s the blood from the vampire baby she’s carrying.
They ask her how she got away and she says she thinks the wolf that’s been following her helped her and protected her. Klaus seethes and says the witches were supposed to be protecting her and instead tried to hurt her. Hayley says it wasn’t Sophie that attacked her – it was Agnes. He says it doesn’t matter – it’s all the same to him – he says he’ll slaughter them all. Rebekah says Elijah will take care of it. Hayley asks if he’s back and Rebekah says she’s been in touch with him and he has a plan and they just need to keep her safe.
Hayley says she just wants to go home and sleep for a few days. She wobbles on her feet and starts to pass out but Klaus scoops her up and says – I’ve got you love. He carries her to the car and Rebekah follows.
Marcel chews Diego out for losing the girls. He sasses Marcel and asks him if he’s going to stick him in the garden too. Marcel snaps his neck and tells Josh when Diego wakes up to tell him he would have gotten a lot farther with an apology. Rebekah comes in and tells him it was awful what happened at the church. Marcel says he heard she was on a mission. She tells him she wants Elijah back and asks if that’s all she wants.
He tells her to stay away from his bar and is men. She asks if he’s jealous and he tells her that he’s already found his queen. She tells him to stop fooling himself about the bartender – she says that Cammie is just comfort food and that he really wants her still after all these years. Marcel gets close but then backs away and leaves.
At Cammie’s, Klaus appears at her window. He asks her if he can come in and tells her he can help with her nightmares and insomnia. She remembers then that she told him about Sean. She says that she thought her brother was mentally ill when he killed those people but now she thinks it might have been a vampire compelling him. He asks her how far she’s willing to go to find the killer. He tells her that it won’t be good for her and will put her in danger. She begs him not to make her forget.
Klaus tells her that he needs her loyalty and is trying to honor his brother. She asks what about her twin brother and says his death is the only reason she’s in the Quarter. She say she needs to know who did this to him and why. She begs him not to take the memory. But Klaus does. He compels her and tells her it was a tragedy and that she must move on, that her brother was mentally ill but now he’s at peace and she needn’t worry. But then he also promises her that he will exact vengeance and make whoever harmed her brother suffer. He tells her she will sleep well and dream of a better world without evil or demons and where all people want to be good. He has tears in his eyes as he tells her these things…
Davina hears a creaking noise in her chambers. She goes to investigate. She sees that Elijah is not in his coffin and then sees him standing behind her. He tells her that he doesn’t mean any harm but it is time they had a talk.
