Joe Gorga, Chris Laurita, and Jacqueline Laurita from The Real Housewives of New Jersey have had assault charges against them dropped. Last week, they were in court to answer to the charges brought by John (The Greek) Karagiorgis, stemming from a brawl back in March. John says he was attacked by Joe, Chris, and Jacqueline at the opening of Posche 2 boutique at Moxie Salon. The cast members confronted John over rumors he spread about their families on Twitter.
A source told the website North Jersey, “Over the last week, a deal was brokered between lawyers for Housewives star Jacqueline Laurita, her husband Christopher, and Joe Gorga — all of Franklin Lakes — and the attorney representing John Karagiorgis to have the charges dismissed.” Faux Reality Entertainment tweeted “criminal charges against all cast members were dropped in exchange for waiver of contract terms to allow filing of civil suit.” The contract terms in question were detailed on Radar Online. It basically says participants on the show agree to their footage being manipulated by the producer as he or she pleases.
The bloody fight was not shown on the Real Housewives of New Jersey season 5 finale for legal reasons. However, details are emerging online. Posche owner Kim DiPaola gave her readers some details of the fight in her blog. She said “My brand new clothes were destroyed, my cuffs were broken, not to mention the back of my dear friends’ salon was practically demolished”.
The trio’s legal troubles are far from over. Radar Online is reporting John will file a civil lawsuit. A source told the website, “Johnny plans to file civil charges against every – all three of the people from the show, Bravo, NBC, the production company and the security teams that didn’t stop the physical violence from happening. He’s also planning to sue Kim D individually, Moxie Salon, and the Moxie twins. Johnny says they all knew the altercation is going to happen, the salon owners were telling clients Johnny was coming to the event and there was going to be an altercation, there is going to be action.”
I was not surprised when I read about the charges against Joe and Jacqueline. Joe has a history of getting into physical fights. He went after his brother in law Joe Giudice twice. The first was at his youngest son’s christening and then again this season on a healing retreat at Lake George. I previously mentioned that Jacqueline had an anger management problem when she was younger. Chris is a pretty quiet guy. I’m sure he jumped in not only to drag his wife out of the fight but also to take a swing at John himself. Push anyone too far and they will fight back.
