On tonight’s episode everyone has arrived at the relaxation retreat. Just one little problem the quietness is starting to get to people. Melissa simply wants to enjoy her birthday. She doesn’t was to relax, she wants to drink.
While Jacqueline and her husband are wondering over Teresa’s intentions, are they pure or is she a snake in the grass, the group gets called for an activity. They thought they would be riding horse when in actuality they will be dealing with a horse therapist. He wants to put them all through a horse trusting exercise.
He wants them to open up and because only if they truly look into themselves will the horse trust them. Rosie gets the horse to lift its leg but Melissa doesn’t. She tries to walk seductively to the horse. The therapist called it a whore walk. She tries to get help from her husband and the therapist calls her out on it. He is able to look at people and see what’s wrong and Melissa doesn’t like that. She fails to get the horse to trust her and so does her husband and Teresa.
When its Kathy’s turn she and her husband got to open up and speak to each other about certain problem they never addressed but Teresa and her Joe miss all of this. They’re on the phone with their daughter. The two return to the group and immediately the therapist zooms in on Joe. He calls him up to the horse.
Joe at first can’t lift the hoof. So therapist starts getting Joe to open up. Joe who is usually tough admitted to be scared about his upcoming trial. Once he opened up he was able to lift the leg. That was big of him and everyone saw how much it meant except for Teresa, Melissa, and Melissa’s Joe.
They felt the therapist prejudged them with all of his assumptions. Never mind that he was pretty much on the ball with everyone else. He was just jerk to them. They don’t get the horse exercise at all. The others understood it was about making yourself vulnerable. Caroline goes as far to say this proves Melissa and Teresa are too much alike. They’re both lacking depth.
If grown could cry over their own issues in order to get a horse’s trust; why can’t Melissa or Teresa do the same. Although it was nice after Jacqueline’s turn Teresa hugged her. She can comfort others when she sees they’re vulnerable. It’s what she did with her husband later on. She gets him to talk about the trial. Joe acknowledges the trial isn’t as clean cut as he had suggested.
Later the group have another activity. They get instructed by a Native American in synchronize drumming. To some it’s fun and to others it’s one more thing they got dragged into. Afterwards Rosie commands attention in order to bring up when Kathy was with the horse. Kathy has always been there for everyone else and when it was her time; Teresa and Joe got up to go on the phone.
Kathy decides to be assertive by saying it hurt but Teresa doesn’t get it. She thinks Kathy is doing a “Marsha, Marsha, Marsha” moment. If or when her kids call then anyone would get dropped.
The gang is goofing around back at the hotel when Teresa take Jacqueline out for a burning ceremony. They’re going to talk over what’s bothering them and once they’re done they’ll burn their grievances in order to close the door. The two ladies are open with each other and share a laugh. This friendship might very well heal.
In Next week’s promo, all the good will appears to have vanished. Melissa is back to be angry at Teresa. Can these women ever act like adults?
