Tonight THE X FACTOR USA returns to FOX with a whole new episode. On tonight’s show the auditions continue in as more hopeful singers perform for our judges Simon Cowell, Paulina Rubio, Kelly Rowland and Demi Lovato. We are nearing the end of auditions, but I am sure there are more surprises to come. Did you watch last night’s auditions #4? We did and we have a full and detailed recap right here, for you.
On last week’s show the search for the X Factor continued in the South for the very best talent. The best performance of the evening was Ashly Williams, who gave an emotional performance of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.” Demi was crying, Kelly was crying, Ashly was crying and random people in the audience were crying. It was that good. Ashly was auditioning for her mother, who was murdered when Ashly was just 14. All of her pain went into that audition on the X FACTOR stage. Her powerful performance earned her a standing ovation from all of the judges.
On tonight’s show we will see the last of the nationwide auditions and on tomorrow night’s show the Top 40 acts will be revealed. Only 10 acts from each category – Boys, Girls, Over 25s and Groups – will be selected to move forward in the competition.
Tonight’s show is going to be an exciting one, which I am not going to miss and neither should you. RECAP: The first person up is Melanie Wright who is 48 years old and she is ready for a new chapter in her life to do what she wanted to do as a child; winning means everything to her. On a side note, she sings horribly and I would rather die then listen to her sing ever again in my life.
Simon is just speachless, he then asks why she ever sang that song and she says she likes it. Simon says it was like finding out Cinderella in the Playboy mansion because she is something you didn’t expect; he says it didn’t work. Paulina says she enjoyed seeing her so happy. All the judges say no to Melanie the train wreck of a performer.
Next up we get a complication of people who are just so horrible at singing.
Next up is Emery Kelly and he is still in high school; he wants to become a pop star like Justin Bieber and One Direction. He is really nervous and is just hoping the judges love him; he sings with his emotions and wants to put a smile on the world.
Demi says he is so cute and that he has a great voice; something they are looking for. Paulina loves his voice and charisma. Simon says that he didn’t like the song but he’s like a little unpolished diamond; beleiving he can grow. Kelly says yes and the other judges say the exact the same thing; Emery is moving on.
Next up auditioning tonight is Khaya Cohen and she is 15 years old; she really wants to be a singer for the rest of her life and is very nervous to compete with all the other talent.
Simon cuts her off and says that song is not working at all for him, Kelly asks if she has another song and she chooses a different one.
Khaya gets a standing ovation and Simon says that is what they have been waiting for; Demi is just amazed at her voice. Paulina is also very impressed; Kelly loved how she was soft in the beginning but when she hit the powerful notes it was amazing. Simon says she loved her voice so much and they all give her a yes to move on.
Next up is some guy named Joseph who has a really high pitched voice; Simon questions if he needs water or something because of how unreal it sounds. Without a doubt this Joesph guy really does suck; I feel so bad for this guy. Demi says that he is not the right unique they are looking for; Kelly says he would be perfect for voice over work with his very unusual voice. They all say no but they do believes his voice can be used for something.
Next up is James Kenney who is 35 years old and started making music at a very young age; he is an apartment manager really wants to do this, it’s his dream and it’s what he loves. He auditioned in the first season as well; but is prepared to win it this year.
Demi says his rifts were crazy and that it was a sexy song; Paulina is just delighted by his talent. Simon says the song choice was brilliant and Kelly gives him an instant yes and all the other judges follow that choice having James move on.
Next up is a complication of singers who really impressed the judges and made it on to the next round easily.
Next up is 31 year old David Gay who is a mechanical engineer; he’s ready to go out there and give it 100%. He’s there for his girlfriend who wants him to audition for the show; she is very supportive of him and he’s ready to make her proud.
Paulina gives him a no, Kelly gives him a no, Demi says no and Simon tells him thank you very much. Next up is his girlfriend Lauren who is David’s girlfriend; she says that he really just did it to support her singing.
David comes out and has a ring with him; he goes ahead and proposes to his girlfriend Lauren on stage. Paulina, Demi and Kelly are jumping up and down; freaking out to this. Lauren says yes and even the heartless demon Simon smiles. Simon then tells her it’s a no; Lauren only got one yes so she did not make it through.
Next up is Tim Olstad and he is 23 years old and he is incredibly nervous to audition today; he just doesn’t feel like he’s completely confident and even questions if he can do it. He’s very fidgety and wants to prove himself wrong; he feels he has to finally step out of his comfort zone.
Kelly says his voice just came over her like a blanket of love; it was so beautiful and he sang it perfectly. Demi got chills and says he’s so loveable and cute the way that he is. Paulina says he’s like a teddy bear she wants to hug; she believes he nailed it. Tim gets 3 yes’s and moves on since Simon the demon of terror is absent at the moment.
Next up to audition in front of the judges is Wesley Mountain and he is 19 years old who is so excited to be there; he is very much in love with Kelly Rowland. Simon says it was really good; Demi said he was so creepy but he has a really good voice. Paulina says he has to keep calm with his love for Kelly; but all the judges give him a yes.
Up next is Celine Polenghi who is 16 years old and beleives she can win the show. Simon says it wasn’t perfect but she has massive potential; he loved the fact she sang that song and calls her a future pop star. Kelly says she liked her and says yes; all the judges give her a big yes and Celine moves on.
It’s just a massive complication of girls impressing the judges and moving on.
Next up is 19 year old Rickey Clark, it’s the biggest opportunity and the judges say he looks like Usher a lot. He loves to sing and believes he has the X Factor. Simon says he likes him but not his voice; it sounded way too low and out of tuned for him. Demi also says no, Paulina give him a no but tells him to come next year. Kelly also give him a no for now; Ricky walks off stage crying. Kelly goes after him and tells him it’s a journey that will take a long time and he will practice more and smash it next year.
Paulina and Demi or not there for now so it’s just Kelly and Simon. Next up is Lorie Moore and is 34 years old, she was a professional female football player and even won a championship. She has achieved in a sports arena and wants to now succeed in music. Simon says wow and Kelly says that she wasn’t prepared for her amazing voice; Simon says that he had a sense that it was a performance not an audition. He says she is very good and gives her a yes; Kelly just answers for Simon and Lorie moves on.
Next up on the X Factor and it’s a group called Second Hand High; they are very confident their song will impress the judges and everyone else in the audience. They are so confident their song will be amazing and I can tell you right now it’s one of the worst things I have ever heard in my entire existence; it’s so annoying I would much rather be disemboweled.
Simon says that he thinks they should change the name of the group to deluded; he believes the song was terrible. Kelly says it’s weird and that she kind of liked the song; she liked the lyrics but not the performance. Demi says it was catchy but it was not for her. Kelly says no, Demi say no and Simon just gives them a big no.
