Tonight on TLC 19 Kids and Counting returns with another new episode. On tonight’s episode “The Big Question” Jim Bob gets a Nepali shave; Jill volunteers at a birth center; Derick has a surprise for Jill before she goes back to the U.S.
On the last episode Jill and Jim Bob traveled halfway around the world to see if Derick could be “the one.” Back at home, Michelle spent some time with Jessa and checked in on her courtship with Ben. On tonight’s episode with a few days left in their trip, Jill & Jim Bob make the most of their time. While Jill volunteers at a birth center, Derick takes Jim Bob for a traditional Nepali shave. As the trip comes to an end, Derick has a surprise for Jill. What will it be?

Tonight’s episode of 19 Kids And Counting picks up where we left off last week, Jim Bob and Jill are in Nepal visiting her pen-pal Derick. While she is out shopping with her Dad and Derick, he throws her for a loop and tells her he has to run some errands and he’ll meet up with her later. Jill is a little thrown off since she went to Nepal to visit him, and he is ditching her – but she assumes it must be something really important.
While Derick is “running his errands” Jim Bob questions Jill about what she thinks about Derick. Jill obviously likes Derick, but she still feels like she should get to know him.
Derick sneaks off to a jeweler in Nepal while Jill is with her Dad and he designs a silver necklace with a heart-shaped gem on it, decorated with emeralds. He plans to give it to Jill over the next few days when he asks her to officially court him.
Derick rejoins Jill and Jim Bob, and the trio climbs into a “tuk tuk” to travel to their next destination. Jim Bob thinks that the “tuk tuk” is a “coffin on wheels.” After a scary bumpy ride through Nepal they finally arrive at Monkey Temple. Jim Bob feeds the monkey bananas, but he does feel a little sad that Michelle and the kids couldn’t join him.
After the Monkey Temple Jill heads to a Nepal birthing center, and the head master gives her a full tour of the facility, and then she begins her volunteer walk. Meanwhile Derick and Jim Bob head to a Nepal barber and Derick decides to shave his beard off before they head back to the birthing center to pick up Jill. Jim Bob decides to trust the Nepal barber with his beard as well.
Back at the Duggar house Michelle gathers all of the kids for a video chat with Jill, Jim Bob, and Derick. Michelle is shocked to see that Derick saved off all of his beard. She could tell that Jim Bob and Jill were having a good time getting to know Derick. Jessa thinks it is really exciting that one of her sisters is also in a courtship. Jim Bob proclaims that “love is in the air.” After their video chat Jinger gives Joy Anna a lesson on how to make the family their homemade bread. The older girls are all starting courtships and getting ready to move on and it is time to pass on the tradition.
It’s time for Jill and Jim Bob to pack their bags and begin heading back to Arkansas. Derick takes Jill aside and officially asks her to start a courtship with him, Jill agrees and accepts the emerald heart necklace he had made for her.
