Bethenny Frankel is all set to return to the world of catfights and orchestrated drama. Wait, I take that back, she’s been living in that world for the better part of a decade now. To be more specific, Bethenny Frankel will be returning to Season 7 of the Real Housewives of New York City. It seems the famwhore who had her TV show cancelled is hired for RHONY
Bethenny is probably one of the most famous alumni from the Real Housewives franchise, and she’s finally ditching her attempts to become a talk show host/actress/entrepreneur/author/etc in order to return to her roots. It’s about time, right? It was getting painful watching her attempts to become a brand name, and her talk show was quite possibly one of the worst talk shows I had ever seen in my life.
Obviously, Bethenny was trying to save face when she claimed that she was ‘relieved’ when her talk show got cancelled, but we all know the truth. Obviously, Bethenny has reached the end of her rope in terms of business opportunities, and she’s going to return to the franchise that made her a celebrity in the first place.
US Weekly’s source explains that producers are hoping that Bethenny Frankel’s return to RHONYC will help increase ratings for the show, which have been floundering over the past few seasons. In fact, Season 6 hit a record low with only 1 million viewers, and the show’s producers are bringing back Bethenny as a ‘last-ditch effort’ to boost viewers.
Of course, Bethenny will then use this opportunity to promote her Skinnygirl business products, which includes books, clothes, and a cocktail line. Ironically, Skinnygirl also hasn’t been doing all that well, which means that Bethenny Frankel and Bravo probably think they can help each other. It’s more likely that they’ll both crash and burn, but hey, good for them for thinking on their feet.
What do you guys think? Will Bethenny Frankel’s return to the Real Housewives of New York City boost ratings for Season 7? Or will it fail to make an impact? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
