When Big Brother 16 first started, I thought Frankie Grande was cute and harmless with his pink hair and bouncy can-do attitude, but as Big Brother 16 live feed spoilers show that the fact is, Frankie is more Cruella de Ville than any contestant I’ve ever seen. He’s bitchy, misogynistic and downright mean and that’s just during the regular Big Brother episodes. During after-hours, Frankie’s even worse and says not just catty things about the other contestants, but wishes them horrible physical violence.
My theory is that he’s getting a pass because he’s gay and related to a celebrity. What do you think? It seems like CBS is being overly kind to Frankie in editing – are they grooming him for something or maybe trying to curry favor with his much more famous sister?
#1 Death threats against other contestants including showmance buddy Zach!
Shortly after Frankie’s grandpa died when he should have been maybe a little more sensitive, he said Jocasta can just “kill herself.” This was right after she did a memorial service for his G-pa. Not very nice. Sure, you can say he was joking, but why are murder, violence and sexual molestation funny to this guy?
Frankie and Zach had an epic flirtmance/showmance and in after-hours footage of Big Brother spoilers Frankie could be heard whispering to himself that he was really in love with the brawny cutey. But then after he tucked him in one night, he went to Cody, Derrick and Caleb and said that he “put the baby to sleep. Now we can stab him in the heart.” Heartless much, d-bag? He leaves the room then later comes back and says he wants to “euthanize him rather than cut his head off.” The other guys say he’s demonic.
#2 Rape threats against Victoria!
Frankie tells Caleb and Cody they should “double team” Victoria while she’s drunk and says “I think you should take all of her virginities in one night – all of them.” One of the other guys tells him that’s really foul. A few people online defended him saying he never used the word rape – true enough, he did not. But exactly what do you call it when a girl is so drunk she’s passed out and you tell a couple of other guys to go have sex with her while she’s out of it? That’s rape. There’s nothing else it can be. So while he may not have used that specific four letter word, he was definitely recommending it to happen.
#3 Misogyny galore!
Frankie flat out called Nicole the c- word. I’m sorry, gay guys don’t like to be called f– and women don’t like to be called that other word. It’s ugly, inflammatory and unnecessary. Later he calls Jocasta a bitch. He’s just full of lovely words for the women in the house. You never hear him calling the guys ugly names, just the women. So, despite appearances, he must not be in touch with his feminine side.
#4 Gay hating homophobic statements!
Yes, he’s gay, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be homophobic. Frankie said science has shown there is a genetic predisposition towards being gay but society can change you. Hmmm… okay. But then he starts talking about lesbians and says that “many lesbians choose to become lesbians later in life” but says it doesn’t work that way for men. This is really offensive to lesbians. The women I know that waited until later in life to engage in lesbian relationships just didn’t decide one day to be gay. They were gay but, for whatever reason (usually family and societal pressure), tried to play it straight but then decided to finally be true to their nature. He makes it sound like lesbians are the step-children of the gay community. His attitude sucks.
#5 Egotistical douchebaggery
Frankie told Nicole that it was nice to hang out with “normal people” for a change and explained that normally, his “fame” makes this impossible. Excuse me, Madonna is famous, Gaga is famous. Frankie, not so much. I had heard of his sister, but she’s an up and comer, not a huge star and he’s riding her coattails but still very much in her shadow (as Zingbot pointed out). I had honestly never heard of him before this show and now wish I never had. He also called himself a social media mogul (has the meaning of the word mogul changed since last I looked at the dictionary?).
Maybe CBS is editing Frankie Grande to look more human since he’s bringing in lots of viewers with his shenanigans. They may even be planning on using him on other shows. Frankie tried to get on Survivor before he got onto Big Brother so maybe they’re going to let him go on there. See his name dropping lame-o tryout video below. Otherwise, I can’t explain why they’re not letting viewers that only see the regular episodes see who this mean little man really is.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Frankie go to the end just to see him lose, but I don’t want him to get the second place loot that comes with it. The problem is, he’s a competition beast. So while I don’t think the pink haired cretin should win, he may simply plow the others down and push his way to the finals of Big Brother 16. But even if he makes it to the finals, I can’t imagine the jury will vote to give him the cash. After all, even if CBS is editing him to make America like him better, the other house guests know just what a repulsive little troll Frankie is.
