Cara Delevingne is another celebrity who is voicing her opinion against Instagram’s nipple ban. The popular photo sharing social media site recently banned Rihanna from the site for showing too much nip, and now others are attempting to take a stand, expressing the fact that the nipples are just another portion of the body that shouldn’t be discriminated against — or censored.
Cara, alongside model Jourdan Dunn, chatted with Elle and expressed their opinions regarding the ban. Dunn jokes, “everyone should do a nipple selfie” and Delevingne adds, “Free the nipples!” In talking about why she thinks Instagram has taken this stance, Cara continues, “they follow everyone else, and they’re trying to conform to everyone else’s opinions on bodies. Nipples are just another part: They’re like lips, they’re like noses, they’re like eyeballs.”
“You should be able to have them out all the time if you want,” she says. “Nipples are beautiful things, don’t hide them.”
Do you agree with Cara, Jourdan, and countless other stars who are supporting this fight? We’d love to hear your thoughts on the matter in the comments section below. Do you think Instagram should lift the nipple ban, restore Rihanna’s account, and let the world see all the nipples? Or is the photo sharing site doing what it needs to do by banning various nipples from being shared across the screens of the world?
