The family is all at a golf shop for Chase’s 18th birthday. Todd says he’s going to be at the party to embarrass his son. Chase says if it was up to him they’d be in Vegas. He says he’s 18 and a free man. His dad has a special gift for him and says every young man should get that. He has a basket of pamphlets about sex and venereal disease. Chase is mortified even further when his dad calls him precious baby.
Julie teases her brother as he tries and fails to play golf. Savannah and Tyler, Chase’s BF, have feelings or each other and Chase is creeped out. Chase says the guy is just a four. Chase yells at Tyler to get away from his sister. Todd says he can’t believe he’s grown and Chase says he and his dad are on an even playing field now. He tells his dad he’s done with curfew and will come and go as he wants.
Todd tells him this is not happening because he still lives at home with his mom and dad and has a midnight curfew. He says the only things open past midnight are legs and the ER and he needs to stay out of both. Next day, Chase comes in and Julie takes his order for breakfast then gives him a check for $25. His dad gives him a bill for $325. He says if he wants to treat the house like a hotel, they’ll charge him like that. Todd is dressed as a bell hop and Chase complains.
Todd says as a grown man, he has to pay for his life. Todd says he can buy or abide by their rules. Chase is outraged. Savannah says she likes being 16. His brother offers him a lunch menu. Upstairs he complains to Savannah about all this. She says they need to talk about Tyler since he’s already in a bad mood. He says it won’t happen and she says he’s being ridiculous. She says if she wants to go out with his BF, she will. He threatens to go out with her friends and she says they won’t go out with him.
He tells her that he’ll be done with her and Tyler both if they date. He decides to take his stuff and move out since he’s sick of her and his parents. He says he’s checking out of Hotel Chrisley. He tells his parents he’s leaving and he says he can’t deal with their rules. He’s headed to his grandmother’s house and his dad says that’s fine. They tell him he doesn’t have a pot to pee in or a window to throw it out of. Chase calls Faye, Todd’s mom and tells her what his dad did this morning.
Faye says it’s okay if he comes to her house. Todd calls his mom and tells her Chase is on the way over. He tells her not to make it easy on him. Todd says they need to show him that life isn’t easy and no one is going to put up with his shit. Faye tells her son that she’ll put Chase’s ass to work. Chase is excited and says this will be the life. He wants to go to a friends, but she says he has to go to the drugstore. She hands him a list and he asks what a Depend is.
Chase heads to the drugstore and asks the clerk for help. She asks what size adult diapers he needs and if he likes name brand or generic. She goes through the list with him and he’s increasingly grossed out. She explains what Metamucil is and he’s just icked out. The clerk says they don’t have a bag big enough for his adult diapers and he’s humiliated. Savannah meets Tyler for lunch to hang out. Chase is not happy about this.
She says she just wants dessert and he says no to chocolate but he says he’s not getting anywhere near her if she has chocolate. Chase shows back up to his Nanny’s. She says he needs to watch Catherine, her friend and roommate, while she runs errands. She tells him she loves him and then leaves. Chase says this isn’t the way he pictured his big adventure. He asks Catherine if she wants food but she just yawns and nods off.
He calls Tyler while he’s out with Savannah. He doesn’t tell Chase that they’re together. He wants to date Savannah but says Chase is the problem. She says everything can’t go his way. He says they have to think about the consequences. He says Chase is texting to ask if he hooked up with Savannah. Lisa says she’s cooking dinner and she and Todd wonder how it’s going with Chase. They call him to ask what he’s doing and he says he’s baby sitting Catherine. They laugh.
Chase says it’s not funny and Todd reminds him the hotel is open 24 hours for those who can follow the rules. Lisa says she bets he’ll be home by tonight but Chase isn’t ready to give up yet. His Nanny gets back and Chase tells her that Catherine ignored him. He says he has plans and she asks him to help with Catherine. She sends him to make Catherine’s bed and to straighten the house up a little. He has to clean her toilet chair and is gagging.
He’s scared of what happens after the sun goes down. He says he bought diapers but won’t change them. That does it and he tells his Nanny he’s going home. He says this is worse and she says you have to leave home to find out how good you had it. Savannah mocks him for not making it more than four hours away from home. Lisa is working on the computer and tells Todd that Chase just pulled up. Todd says his kids are all allergic to work.
Chase comes in and says he’s checking back into the hotel because it’s much worse over there. Todd asks if he’s saying he loves them and life isn’t so bad. He agrees that’s what he’s saying. He says he can wait until college to do what he wants. Todd says he was 18 just yesterday and understands. He tells Chase he can bend a little bit and Lisa agrees to. Chase says buying diapers for Catherine was a big moment. Todd says Chase realized he’d rather put up with his shit than Catherine’s.
Chase it out washing his dad’s car to help pay off his hotel debt. Chase comes after him with a bucket of soapy water. Todd tells him to apologize for being rude and disrespectful. Chase says it but Todd soaks him anyway. Savannah brings iced tea out to Chase to try and broker peace. She says he’s right and he asks her to say it again so he can film it. She says she won’t let Tyler come between them but says a few years down the road, that may change. Chase tells her she should have stopped before that last.
Todd talks to baby Chloe and Lisa about Chase. Then Chase comes in with some room services cookies for bedtime. Todd asks how much this is and Chase says there will be a bill. Chase since it’s a hotel, he thought he’d join the staff and asks for a tip. They hug it out and tell him they’ll ring the bell when they’re ready for him to take the room service tray. He laughs.
THE END!
