This season of Dance Moms has been quite explosive, getting a little more daring with each episode. Tonight is no exception as Kelly returns for the last time and Abby is NOT happy about it.
Tonight’s episode starts with Mackenzie practicing her song in the studio. Back at Abby Lee’s, Abby goes through the pyramid. Abby Lee explains Maddy will not be there as she has a project in LA. Abby throws everyone for a loop by explaining that she needs a replacement for Maddy while she’s away. She has the moms choose who they believe stands out the most as the girls do a little free style. After those who didn’t get picked get eliminated, the dancers have to join in the process of choosing. They finally end with Kendall as the winner when only Chloe and Kendall are left. Christi, of course, is being the typical martyr that she always is.
Nia is at the bottom of the pyramid for the week because of the headpiece mishap from last week. The group routine is called “The Fight” and Chloe, Mackenzie and Kalani get solos. As the moms chat, Christi gets a call from Kelly. Of course, she takes it on speaker so when Kelly asks her to lunch, everyone hears about it. New mom Kira asks if she can join. Everyone thinks this is odd, but she explains she simply wants to get to know Kelly, but she has a hidden agenda..she wants to make sure Kelly and the girls are not coming back. Christi ends up inviting everyone
Kelly and Christi meet for lunch and have only a few minutes to talk before everyone shows up. Kelly shares how relieved she is not to be at the studio any more. Kelly begins to berate the moms for not calling to check on her and the girls. She mentions that only Holly and Christi called her. She tells the moms she really cannot say anything about the incident as she is not allowed at this point.
Back at Abby Lee’s, as the girls practice, Abby approaches the moms and tell them that she knows that they went to lunch with Kelly and she is not happy about it. She tells the moms they can leave if they cannot be loyal. She is concerned about the ALDC confidential information being shared with those not part of the dance company. Christi, of course, thinks Abby is only talking to her. Clearly Abby does know Christi and Kelly and best friends, but she was clearly upset with everyone. She wanted to send a clear message and it looks like it got through to everyone..but Christi.
On the bus, Anny and Christi have it out again and Abby ends the discussion by telling Christi she can leave. Abby tells the moms that no one is safe. Once they reach their destination, Abby again tells the moms they need to stay away from Kelly if they are going to be loyal to ALDC. Christi chimes in that she thinks that is unfair. Chloe knocks her solo out of the park! Thank goodness, so Christi doesn’t have something else to complain about. Kalani’s solo is The Swan. Kira wants her to shine to ensure a spot on the team. She does an amazing job. Last solo is Mackenzie. She does such a great job but loses her hair piece on stage and it just puts the cloud on the performance. Abby is furious about it and lets her know. She tells Kalani her solo was great, she tells Chloe hers was good. The tension is building.
Jill is still questioning, and now finally to Abby, why Kendall was supposed to have the lead in the group dance, but the part seems to have gone to Kalani instead. Abby tells her she misunderstood as Kendall was meant to be the group leader not the lead in the dance. The group number is so fun to watch and the girls do an amazing job.
Mackenzie wins mini solo. Junior solo second place goes to Chloe, Kalani getting first place. ALDC gets first place for the group number…this makes number 8 in a row! Kira suggests putting Maddie and Kalani against each other. Surprisingly, and happily, Abby says she does not want to put the girls against each other to beat one another. After Abby shares her criticism with Chloe, Christi chimes in to protect her daughter and Abby blows up! Next week is set to be very explosive, with Christi and Abby going at it again. It is getting really nasty between these two! Stay tuned. What do you think about tonight’s episode? Do you think Christi is right or pushing too far? We want to hear from you!
