The new season of The Bachelorette has yet to air an episode but tidbits had been leaking out about what was going on in Andi Dorfman’s search for love. One contestant, Eric Hill had already been eliminated for sure and we have just learned that he has died after a devestating accident on Easter Sunday. Apparently Eric loved adventure and was paragliding in Utah when his parachute collapsed. His injuries were massive and he had been in a coma according to his sister, Karen Tracy. The family were able to gather with him one last time before Eric passed away this morning.
Since February of 2013 the adventurer had been on a global trek to visit every country in the world in less than 1,200 travel days. The mission was dubbed “Go With Eric” and was being filmed as a documentary. He obviously took some time off from traveling in order to take part in The Bachelorette but once eliminated he picked up that project right where he had left off.
The family is grieving but they seem to have found comfort in the fact that Eric’s accident was at least in the states. It could have happened in another country where they would have struggled to reach him. There seems to be some peace in the fact that they were able to be with him in those last few moments. Obviously it’s early to even speculate, but how do you think that ABC will handle Eric’s death once the new season begins airing? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
