Jennifer Lawrence is basically the younger version of Gwyneth Paltrow, except she’s actually liked by the public. So of course Chris Martin is taking full advantage of that and shouting about his relationship with Jennifer Lawrence to the whole world [via People and US Weekly], but guess who’s not so happy about this news? Yeah, that would be Chris’ ex-wife [and according to legal documents, current wife] Gwyneth ‘Goop’ Paltrow.
Yeah, Gwyneth is reportedly jealous that Chris went and got himself a mini-me version of her, but I think Gwyneth’s giving herself too much credit. Chris Martin could have any random Gwyneth mini-me he wants, but he wanted a celebrity that actually raised his profile and more importantly, that the public actually liked. But that means that Gwyneth Paltrow is more bitter than ever, and allegedly, she’s now taking it out on Chris and Jennifer by refusing to sign the divorce documents. Gossip Cop reports that Gwyneth’s rep has denied these claims calling them “complete BS.”
My oh my, are we having another Demi Moore – Ashton Kutcher situation here, where Gwyneth will drag out the divorce for as long as humanly possible? According to Star Magazine, Gwyneth thinks that the reason Jennifer and Chris have been staying out of the public eye with their romance is because Chris is still ‘officially’ married. In my opinion, it’s because Jennifer Lawrence hates the media spotlight, but hey, if Gwyneth needs an excuse, she’s going to find an excuse. Regardless, this is supposedly Gwyneth’s method of keeping Chris on leash, but I don’t think it’s going to work. Whether Chris Martin and JLaw want to make public appearances or not, the whole world already knows they’re dating. There’s little Gwyneth can do to change that fact.
