Do we detect a green-eyed monster in Gwyneth Paltrow? Why, yes we do! And it seems those eye are leering right at Gwyneth Paltrow’s soon to be ex-husband Chris Martin’s new lady love, actress Jennifer Lawrence, 24.
Jennifer Lawrence is young, sexy, and the current Hollywood “It” girl. Though Gwyneth has had a decent film career, she simply cannot compete with Jennifer when it comes to fans and overall likability. In fact, these two actresses could not be more different. Now, it is burning Gwyneth up that, of all women, Chris chose someone who is her polar opposite. Jennifer Lawrence, or JLaw as many call her, is known as a down-to-earth, fun, tell-it-like-it-is actress who seems to relish a simple, unglam lifestyle. Gwyneth, on the other hand, has taken much heat for her over-the-top ideals and unrealistic sense of normality, notably her GOOP lifestyle website meant for the everyday woman but is by far more appropriate for the rich and famous.
Gwyn cannot catch a break from the public either. After making a some unpopular comments that truly showed how out-of-touch with reality the pretentious Paltrow really is, the few fans she had left were ready to jump ship as well. Paltrow ruffled some serious feathers with statements like, “I am who I am. I can’t pretend to be somebody who makes $25,000 a year,” and this doozy where the actress discussed how much more difficult it is to be an actress than a working mom, “I think to have a regular job and be a mom is not as, of course there are challenges, but it’s not like being on set.”
So, it is pretty safe to say that while Gwyneth, 41, isn’t gaining any fans, Lawrence’s star and fan base continues to grow and that is eating away at Gwyneth. Gwyneth tries so hard to be liked but always comes off as privileged and out-of-touch with reality, where Jennifer seems so genuine and natural. In a recent statement, Gwyneth responded about her thoughts on Martin’s new love interest with, “He could do worse.” Ouch.
One thing in common? Both ladies have an Academy Award for Best Actress, though Lawrence’s win for Silver Linings Playbook came in 2013, to Gwyneth’s Shakespeare in Love 1999 win. Jennifer seems to win in the award department as well, with far more awards under her belt than uppity Paltrow.
Chris Martin may be on to something, though. Both his former wife and his new girlfriend Lawrence, who recently broke up with actor Nicholas Hoult, have won an MTV award for Best Kiss. Wonder which lady he’d name as best kisser of the two. This relationship may go the distance as the two seems to have similar philosophies on life, personalities that complement one another, fun and easygoing attitudes, and people really like each of them…separately and as a couple. Talk about a great “coupling?”
