Spoilers for Homeland season 4 look at Carrie and Quinn and whether or not they will hookup and become lovers! Homeland season 4 has been a significant improvement from its widely derided third season, thanks in no small part to the absence of the Brody family and their annoying side plots. Now, we can get back to what Homeland has always been about: a nuanced portrayal of terrorism, and the consequences of Carrie’s [Claire Danes] decisions on a personal and country-wide scale. However, there is one other aspect of Homeland that many fans desperately want to see – a Carrie and Quinn [Rupert Friend] romance.
Quinn’s feelings for Carrie have been hinted at for a long, long time, and their chemistry has been slowly building over the past two seasons. However, this is the first Homeland season where the gigantic roadblock of Brody is no longer there, even though Carrie and Quinn are still way too messed up to function as professional adults, much less two people in a couple. However, Homeland EP Alex Gansa has admitted that the writers were toying with the idea of a Quinn/Carrie romance, even though he didn’t guarantee that we’d see anything this season. That being said, Quinn’s affection for Carrie has been pretty clear for everyone to see, including his superiors. Plus, there was that hint of jealousy when he found out that Carrie was seducing Aayan, and I don’t think you could attribute all of his frustration to the fact that Carrie was manipulating a child.
So in the end, we know fans want to see a Carrie/Quinn romance, or at least, a Carrie/Quinn hookup. I’d say a hookup [probably with angry, violent sex] is much more likely at this point, because as I mentioned, these are two people that are barely functional right now. A romantic relationship between them would be ridiculously dysfunctional, but then again, Carrie did fall in love with a terrorist. Dysfunctional is all she knows.
