It looks like Nina Dobrev went a little too far with trying to prove to us that she was completely over Ian Somerhalder. There is a fine line between making a man jealous and totally disgusting him and unfortunately Nina took things a step too far. It’s no secret that Nina struggled hard when they first split up in early 2013. Her social media posts were brimming with anger and when she and Ian had to show up at a Vampire Diaries event together, well it wasn’t until last fall that the chill seemed to have left the air.
After they split Ian was just off doing the things that he always does – working, devoting time to a multitude of causes, more work. Ian has always opted to keep his private life incredibly quiet so for over a year he wasn’t really solidly linked to another woman. Sure there were sightings with a random chick here and there but nothing significant. Meanwhile Nina was determined to prove that she was A-Ok and in her mind that meant being spotted with men. Various actors, hot young up-and-comers, romps on the beach. Nina was selling the idea that she had moved on because in spite of rumored casual hook ups with Ian, he was not rekindling the romance.
Poor Nina took the age old approach and didn’t know when to reel herself back in. Instead of Ian being jealous she successfully pushed him completely away. Not just that but after spending quality time with no less than 4 different men at Comic Con last week, she doesn’t have much of a leg to stand on even in the face of Ian now dating her former bestie, Nikki Reed. Sure Nikki totally broke girl code by setting her sights on Ian, but you have to think that if Nina were acting like she wanted him back then Nikki probably would have stayed away, right?
While Ian may have considered patching things up with Nina awhile back he has changed his mind. By not just dating Nikki, but being seen in public with her he has made his intentions perfectly clear – he is finished with Nina. Unfortunately she is still entertaining a revolving door of guys to try and fill in the void.
