Xiomara can see the abundance of danger signs awaiting Jane if her daughter decided to follow in her footsteps and make a foolish mistake over some guy. And so on tonight’s episode of “Jane the Virgin”, she’s warned her daughter about rushing into things with Rafael Solano. Especially so soon after Michael. Jane hasn’t been out of her engagement with Michael for long (which also included a two year committed relationship) and frankly she’s going to need time to heal from that. Plus Rafael, the guy Jane is currently interested in, is still married and his wife appears to be as crazy as hell.

At the moment, Petra is holding a hired gun hostage in her hotel room. The same hotel her husband runs and that Jane works in. So not only is Petra seemingly incapable of thinking things through but she’s getting involved with some pretty shady characters like it’s nothing new to her.

On the upside, while Petra is busy trying to work out a hostage negotiation, Rafael is free to pursue Jane. You see she had taken her mother’s advice and she had told Rafael that she needed time. However one of her friends ended up needing an invite to a club that Rafael had partly owned. So Rafael managed to worm himself back into Jane’s life with little to no trouble by offering to help her and her friends.

But poor Michael is out in the cold. He and Jane are at that stage where they’re awkwardly returning things to each other. And the one thing Michael has going for him is that Jane has assured him Rafael didn’t play into her decision to end their engagement.

So at least one person is going to be ticked off with the way things are going between Jane and Rafael.

Rafael had invited himself along to Jane’s friend’s gathering. He showed up at the club and then he proceeded to flirt with every other woman there besides Jane. It was an obvious tactic to make Jane jealous and it wasn’t working. Jane then followed up Rafael’s ploy with ignoring him which really only incited him further.  You see to him there relationship held some of the excitement of the chase. Rafael liked Jane but he also had some playboy tendencies left over. So the trouble her mother had thoroughly warned her about getting caught up in was pretty unavoidable.

Though Xiomara wasn’t so good about taking her own advice. She pushed herself too soon into something she wasn’t ready for. Xiomara went on a date with a guy she likes but she had only agreed to it as a way to show Rogelio she was capable of moving on. And that’s also why she agreed to a double date with her ex.

Rogelio had wanted to act nonchalant as well so he proposed a double date with Xiomara and her date. And do you know where that led? If you’re thinking an uncomfortable dinner then you would have guessed right. Xiomara’s date ended up being a big shot and while she would have liked to see where things went with him – she was forced to take care of a very drunk Rogelio.

Xiomara brought Rogelio home with her so that he could sleep off his hangover. And by the next morning, the parents were in a panic. Jane hadn’t returned home from the club and she hadn’t called which really isn’t like her. So Xiomara was calling around at all of Jane’s friends and Rogelio had tweeted #FindJane to six million followers.

Neither of their plans worked. And yet Jane was ok. Apparently Rafael did win her over at some point and the two of them spent the night getting to know each other. Albeit, not in the biblical sense. Then when she showed up late for work – Jane used her status as the pregnant virgin (the same one the nuns have been exploiting) to get off from landing in trouble. Or worse, fired.

As for Petra, Jane and Rafael did need to worry about her. Petra had hatched some scheme and the result was that Rafael was fired from the hotel by his father. It was revealed this week what Petra did but it must have been really juicy for Rafael to get fired.

However the real mystery is why Rafael is going to Mexico when he promised Jane he would stick around to give their budding relationship a chance. Getting fired is one thing but leaving the country soon afterwards sounds like he’s been banished. If parents these days can still do that?!?!

THE END!
