Two years ago an explosive book made the rounds that supposedly documented Kate Gosselin‘s abuse of her children, in her own words. All of the information was pulled from Kate’s own private diaries that just so happened to be stolen from her missing hard drive. When Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World first dropped it was on bookshelves for all of 2 days before Kate’s legal team managed to get it pulled — but the stories were already out there. Kate recently dropped her civil suit against Robert Hoffman which ultimately means that he can re-release the book- so of course he is doing just that.
The June 23rd print edition of In Touch magazine has an exclusive story on the contents of the book which are mostly in Kate’s own words from those diaries. She incriminates herself by detailing the violence that she directed at her kids. An encounter with her son Collin seems to be about the worst as Kate said,
“I grabbed him and spanked him as hard as I could and thought I may seriously injure him, so I sent him to his crib … and whipped him into it very hard. I really REALLY lost it! I pulled Collin up by the hair and I spanked them so hard!” As for her then husband Jon Gosselin, Kate called him at work after the incident with Collin, “I told him in so many words that I felt like I may hurt his children.”
How do you think such explosive commentary from Kate herself will resonate with the public this time around? In the two years since Hoffman’s first crack at releasing this, Kate certainly hasn’t won any more fans. If anything, her star has dimmed. Do you think she will be held accountable for her actions?
