Kate Middleton and sister Pippa Middleton were slammed by Morrissey along with Queen Elizabeth and Prince William during a concert at The O2 on November 29. Morrissey broke every rule and crossed every boundary possible during a set that seemed to have a hidden agenda on November 29 at The O2. Morrissey decided to share every beef he has in the most inappropriate ways possible. He started with his record label who he’s been battling in the past few months. He and his band sported “F*ck Harvest Records” t-shirts (without the censor) as he gave a speech about his latest album, “World Peace Is none Of Your Business.”
He then went in for the Royals. Morrissey opened the show with The Smiths, “The Queen is Dead,” and then later moved on to “Meat is Murder,” with the latter being accompanied by graphic pictures of slaughterhouses, Queen Elizabeth flipping the bird, and another of Prince William and Kate Middleton with the caption, ‘United King-Dumb.” This isn’t the first time he went after Kate Middleton, either. In a 2,000 word blog in The Mirror, Morrissey called Kate Middleton an “airhead” and criticized sister Pippa Middleton for participating in hunting for sport.
He later went on to encourage concert-goers to let his record label, Harvest Records, know how they feel about the album. Morrissey claims his label dropped him, though they deny that is true. Many believe this may be his last concert after he’s suffered some health issues and, apparently, is searching for a new record label. Certainly we won’t expect to see Morrissey at the Royal Variety Show.
Do you think Morrissey took it too far, CDLers? Or is this just typical behavior for the veteran rocker? Tell us below!
