This is one of those stories that will make you do a double take. Keri Russell is currently starring on The American’s along with Matthew Rhys as a married KGB couple and the onscreen heat has spilled over into real life. As it turns out, Keri separated from her husband, Shane Deary last summer when the two came to the conclusion that they were simply better off as friends rather than being lovers.
According to the Jan. 20th print edition of National Enquirer, Shane and Matthew have become very good friends since The American’s began filming and that hasn’t changed even now that Keri and Matthew are dating. Keri and Matthew raised eyebrows back in December when they started popping up together in NYC looking very cozy. Sources say that Keri worried about Shane’s initial reaction and was likely surprised when he supported her dating Matthew. He realized that he is a good guy to trust with his soon-to-be-ex and their two kids and so Keri and Matthew have his blessing. In fact things are so civil that all three are planning a Hawaiian getaway together!
Are you surprised that what basically amounts to a good old fashioned love triangle is actually so amicable? I mean, this situation could have erupted into a huge scandal and instead they are all about to vacation together. My guess is that Keri and Shane really are headed for divorce court.
