Khloe Kardashian and Matt Kemp have reportedly been their romance on hold, according to a new report from US Weekly. Even though Khloe’s interested in pursuing a romance with Matt, her team reportedly told her to take it slow with Matt for fear of backlash from the media following her recent divorce from Lamar Odom. They’re apparently afraid of it looking bad that she’s rebounding so quickly, even though she and Lamar have technically been done for more than six months.
A source explains, “Khloe told Matt it would look bad for her divorce to be dating so soon. So they have to put on the brakes until it’s finalized. She wants it to remain clear that Lamar was the cheater. Matt understood. Khloe is figuring things out with Matt. She thinks he’s great.”
There’s also the fact that Matt himself is a pretty low-key dude, and dating a Kardashian isn’t necessarily at the top of his wish list. He likes Khloe, sure, but does he really want to join the Kardashian circus? It’s not like he needs the publicity, attention, or fame, considering his position on the L.A. Dodgers. Dating Khloe might increase his visibility in the media, but it wouldn’t necessarily help his career at all, so he’s not getting anything out of it. If that’s the case, that means he actually likes Khloe, which also means that he’s probably willing to wait.
