Anna Wintour officially hates the world because, according to a source, she’s ignoring the backlash from Kim Kardashian and Kanye West‘s first Vogue photoshoot and putting their exclusive wedding pics in a future issue! Not sure what this editor is trying to do to the reputation of her magazine but, if she’s not careful, people are going to start thinking it’s just another run-of-the-mill celebrity tabloid. Vogue has always been one of those magazines that designers, fashion icons, and applauded actors/actresses have reveled for its artistic perspective on the modern world of fashion . . . but maybe not for much longer.
The report comes from Hollywood Life, who claims a source close to Vogue told them that Anna Wintour has wanted the wedding photos all along — that it was actually part of the original agreement. It’s unclear whether or not these will be the “first” photos of the wedding seen, but that’s beside the point. The point is this: More of Kim and Kanye will be gracing the shiny pages of Vogue.
Kim and Kanye are set to wed on May 24 at Chateau d’Usse in France; the wedding is, of course, set to be filmed by E! for a special episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians.
As we stated above, Anna Wintour received a great deal of backlash after deciding to give Kim and Kanye the cover spot on the April edition. Many even mocked the cover. In the true style of an editor, Anna released a well-worded (but no less controversial) statement outlining the reasoning behind her decision:
“Part of the pleasure of editing Vogue, one that lies in a long tradition of this magazine, is being able to feature those who define the culture at any given moment, who stir things up, whose presence in the world shapes the way it looks and influences the way we see it. I think we can all agree on the fact that that role is currently being played by Kim and Kanye to a T. (Or perhaps that should be to a K?)
“There’s barely a strand of the modern media that the Kardashian Wests haven’t been able to master, and for good reason: Kanye is an amazing performer and cultural provocateur, while Kim, through her strength of character, has created a place for herself in the glare of the world’s spotlight, and it takes real guts to do that.”
