Bing’s Search Data Has Leonardo DiCaprio As Most Popular Best Actor Nominee, Jennifer Lawrence Soars As Most Popular Supporting Actress!

The Oscars, the biggest awards ceremony of the season, will air this Sunday. Needless to say, we can’t wait for the Red Carpet styles and the countless celebrities who’ll take home the prizes they so greatly deserve. In anticipation of the glorious event, I thought it might be fun to look at Bing’s recent trend data, which looks at various search results within the award categories.

Currently, American Hustle, a movie that’s garnered a lot of hype (it was good, but I didn’t think it was uh-mazing), has pulled in a majority of the searches within the Best Film category; it generated almost double the searches when compared beside The Wolf of Wall Street. If search results are any indicator of Oscar worthiness, then maybe the Academy will grant the Oscar to American Hustle.

While American Hustle is winning the popularity contest in the Best Film category, Leonardo DiCaprio has a comfortable lead in his Best Actor category. According to the popular search engine, his name pulled in 60% of searches when compared with his fellow nominees. Sandra Bullock, for her work in Gravity, is the most searched for celeb in the Best Actress category and Jared Leto’s scoring big time for his work in Dallas Buyers Club — he’s raked in nearly 41% of the search results in his category. Finally, Steve McQueen tops his Best Director nominees.
