The reasons for Liam Hemsworth‘s hookup with Nina Dobrev are simple – they’re both working in Atlanta long-term [Nina on the Vampire Diaries and Liam on Mockingjay], and they’re both very, very attractive young actors in Hollywood. Obviously, they hung out and sparks flew – but how far are they going to take their relationship?
Right now, I think it’s safe to say that they’re at least hooking up. And on a career level, they’re both pretty much the same. Upper B-list at best, neither household names but working steadily in an industry that’s incredibly competitive for young actors. And on an aesthetic level, they’re both, again, pretty much the same. I mean, let’s face it – they look good together.
But beyond that, what are the reasons for them hooking up and dating? Nina might be into Liam, but is it possible Liam is using her as a rebound from Miley Cyrus? I don’t count that Eiza Gonzelez person, especially since she seemed to be more of a fling than an actual relationship. But with Nina, Liam seems genuinely into her, especially from what all the sources are saying. But even then, I’m guessing that a large part of this relationship is the appeal of dating someone who’s so universally beloved. Nina’s a sweetheart, on set and off set. Everyone who works with her loves her, her fans love her, and bystanders love her. Apart from the drama surrounding her romantic life with Ian Somerhalder, she’s never in the news – and especially never in the news for anything negative. Unlike Miley Cyrus, Nina’s squeaky clean when it comes to her public image, and she’d definitely bring a lot of good publicity to Liam – something he needs after the disastrous breakup with Miley.
