Chris and Albie are getting ready to open their second bad at the Meadowlands Racetrack. They find out they won’t have a full scale bar, but rather a beer truck that will be posted up at the track. They find out they will have to find a truck to set up within five days.
They meet with Albie’s parents and have to tell them the news. “It was supposed to be a restaurant originally, and things change,” Albie says. They beat around the bush before revealing they will be running a beer stand. Al says he has a truck they can use.
Albie is seeing a new girl, Brittany, whom he met at Atlantic City, but he has yet to tell their mother about her. Lauren doesn’t like Brittany right away. “Brittany, what do I think about Brittany?” Lauren says. Silence. “That’s it. That’s all I got.”
Caroline emerges and meets Brittany. She is immediately turned off by Brittany’s skimpy clothing. “Who is this girl, and why is she here?”
“I think she liked me, honestly,” Brittany says. “No,” Lauren responds.
Chris and Albie head out to get the truck. It’s disgusting and in need of a lot of cleaning and repairs.
Albie meets with a friend to talk and get some advice. He tells her about how his mom and Brittany met. “I’m still kind of taking it in,” he says. He hates how his mom judges every girl he dates and hates her right away, and he hates having to “sell” his life decisions to others. He thinks people aren’t thinking about his best interest, but rather what they want. She tells him it may be hard to block out others’ opinions, but he’s going to have to.
Chris and Albie successfully complete work on their beer truck. Caroline is surprised at how the truck turned out, but wants it to succeed quickly so they can get out of her house.
Brittany shows up at the race track. Immediately Lauren remarks, ‘I noticed you have pretty eyes, so that’s one good thing about you. Although Caroline sees where Lauren is coming from because she is protective of her brother, but says that doesn’t justify being rude and hurtful.
Caroline asks Albie why he is dating her, and he says he’s having fun with her. Caroline talks to him about avoiding bad life choices. “There are plenty of girls good enough for my boys,” she says, but she has yet to meet them.
Albie tells her he is old enough to make his own life choices and she should back off.
Lauren talks to Albie about how he and Chris haven’t settled down yet, and she’s worried because her kids will be excluded and his and Chris’s kids will be closer. She then brings up Brittany, saying she doesn’t want him to have kids with her. Albie sees this as yet another example of people telling him what to do with his life in order to please themselves, and flips out about people giving him unsolicited advice constantly. She says she doesn’t think Brittany is a good match, and he deserves better. She also says she doesn’t fit into the family, and he says maybe that’s because people aren’t always nice in the family. He tells her if she wants to be a toxic person in his life, she doesn’t have to be in it. “I just want to be left alone,” he says. “I know me better than anyone else. Let me make my own decisions.” He storms off into the house.
