Lauren gets Caroline ready for a photoshoot for the jar of her soon-to-be-famous Caroline’s Kitchen barbecue sauce. Despite being worried, the photoshoot is fast and easy. ‘What can’t I do well?’ she says.

Albie calls Chris to meet to have a chat. He talks about his doubts with Brittany. First, she is posting photos on Instagram that he thinks don’t look like photos of someone who has a boyfriend. But the even bigger issue is that she sold a pair of sunglasses he bought her, the first gift he got her in their relationship, put in some more money and used the money to get Louboutins.

Albie tells Chris that he needs to take charge of his life and the things he wants. He tells Chris he’s going to get a tattoo because he wants to do it, he is 28 years old and should make his own decisions regardless of what anyone says. Chris immediately jokes that Al is going to cut the tattoo right off his body. Caroline walks in and they tell her about the tattoo, and she reminds him of the rule, saying he needs to talk to his father and deal with it.

Albie and Chris go to get Albie his tattoo. Albie says the tattoo symbolizes him taking control of himself and being independent while tying himself to the people he cares about. He is getting an infinity symbol tattoo on his ribs. Chris jokes that it’s good he’s getting the tattoo on his ribs because Caroline is making a barbecue sauce.

‘It’s a really big week for ribs in the Manzo family,’ Chris says when Caroline reveals her barbecue sauce label. Albie shows the family his tattoo, and Al is impressed with the tattoo. “He’s a grown man, he can do whatever he wants,” he says.

The family is going to the Hudson River to celebrate Caroline and Al’s 30 anniversary.  Lauren asks Chris and Albie what they should get them for a present, and suggests a picture frame. Chris says he knows exactly what he’s going to get them but isn’t going to tell Lauren and Albie because they’re “dream killers.”

Albie tells Caroline that he and Brittany are done. He says he just doesn’t like the idea of anything he’s involved in going bad. “I think Albie sees his relationship with Brittany as a failure,” she says. “It’s not a failure. It’s just life.”

Albie says what he really wants is to get married and have a family with kids. Caroline tells him not to rush it because it will happen eventually. “This was helpful,” Albie says. “And mildly uncomfortable. But helpful.”

During the anniversary trip, Al takes the family on the pontoon. Albie starts talking about how he feels so unsettled watching the people around them having the things he wants like their own families. Caroline tells him she thinks his expectations out of life are too high and that he wants the perfect everything at 28 years old. She thinks he doesn’t think he’s good enough for anyone, which makes her sad. She tells him he can’t let his insecurities prevent him from going forward in life.

Lauren gives Al and Caroline the photo frame. Then Chris brings out his gift, two pinatas, one representing each of them.

THE END!
