According to a new report from Radar Online, Bobbi Kristina Brown [better known as the late Whitney Houston‘s daughter] is being prepped to become the next big musical breakout. The report claims that former American Idol coach Randy Jackson and Mariah Carey are both helping launch Bobbi’s music career.
A source tells Radar, “Randy has decided he wants to make a full court press to help Bobbi Kristina become a star – and Mariah told him she wanted in, too! Mariah would love to step in and provide mentoring to BK because she and Randy have been so close and even worked together on last season’s American Idol. They have years of music experience between them and will share all their knowledge with Bobbi Kristina.”
If this is true, I suppose Mariah’s and Randy’s desire to tutor Bobbi has nothing to do with her mother’s legacy. No, not at all. Unfortunately, Mariah’s already denied these rumors in a recent radio interview, but I’m pretty sure we can take what she says with a grain of salt. If she and Randy really were prepping Bobbi’s career, they wouldn’t reveal it to the tabloids – at least, not yet. They’d wait and wait, exactly for the right moment to announce the news.
However, the biggest problem I have with this story is the report suggesting that Mariah would work together with Randy in helping Bobbi. Don’t we know enough about Mariah and her diva behavior by now to be able to say that she would never let anyone else steal the credit? If Bobbi turns out to be a major talent, then Mariah will make sure the whole world knows it, with little regard for Randy’s input or that of anyone else.
