NASHVILLE continues on ABC tonight with a whole new episode. Tonight’s episode is called, “Too Far Gone,” and on tonight’s season 2 episode 14 Juliette hides at Avery’s, and Rayna gets upsetting news from Tandy. Did you watch the last episode before the break? We did and we recapped it here for you!
On last episode Jeff was expecting Juliette to formally apologize for her behavior during her Grand Ole Opry ceremony, but at the last minute she had a change of heart and decided to standby the choices she’s made. Luke introduced Rayna to a power player that could help her get her distribution deal off the ground, and then surprises her with a NASCAR that is wrapped in Rayna Jayme’s graphics. Deacon was discovering his record deal might not be what he expected and Scarlett’s collaboration with Liam got off to a rocky start. Will and Layla discovered they aren’t all that different and found comfort in one another’s company and Teddy would stop at nothing to reveal Lamar’s connection to Peggy’s death.
On tonight’s episode Rayna welcomes an exonerated Lamar home from prison but Tandy is suspiciously aloof. When Rayna confronts her, Tandy unloads her suspicions about their father. Juliette hides out at Avery’s house, avoiding the fan backlash and enjoying their new relationship. But when Deacon hires Avery to be his engineer for his upcoming recording of a live concert at the Bluebird, Juliette is home alone and not loving it. Meanwhile, Scarlett is fired up with creativity and pills.

There’s a knock at the door and she begs him not to answer the persistent knock. She tells him she’s not there and jumps under the covers. It’s Deacon. He tells him he’s recording his live album at the Blue Bird the next night and asks Avery to engineer it for him. Avery says he’d love to and Deacon says it’s low budget but he can pay him. He says he wants it to sound like it’s really at the Blue Bird. Avery suggests a dry run later to get Deacon out of there. He asks Avery if he’s talked to Juliette and he says she’s been laying low and keeping her head down (literally) – he says she messed up with the Opry thing. He leaves and Juliette pops out of the covers making a face.

He says he noticed that Tandy couldn’t look him in the eye and she says they need time to heal.

He says that anyone can tell there is something going on between him and Brent.

Rayna says everyone in this family is a liar and stomps away.
Jeff comes down to talk to Will and he tells him that he and Brent aren’t connecting. He says he doesn’t see him for who he is or wants to be. She says he’s upset about Peggy’s death and is part of the big case she’s working on. Deacon is angry that she’s been out late with Teddy. He tells her she’s a junkie for people with problems. He says that’s why she latched onto him because he was an alkie with problems. She tells him to leave and he’s happy to do so.
Avery comes home and hears Juliette singing. She’s got two plates of food ready and he asks what the hell she’s done to his place. She bought a couch, bed, table and pillows. He says he doesn’t want her to buy him things. She gets upset. Avery tells her she can’t hide out from everyone. He tells her that she needs to change the conversation and she can’t do it cooped up at his place. J says there is no conversation.
Rayna looks through the PI report and is devastated.
Brent and Jeff have lunch and Jeff tells him that he’s fired. He says the talent isn’t happy about him. He offers him a good severance if he’ll sign a privacy agreement. Brent tells Will that he got what he wanted and Will plays dumb. Brent tells him he’s lost his biggest ally at Edgehill. He stomps out. Gunnar confronts Will and he says he didn’t mean to get him fired. Gunnar tells him that getting rid of Brent fixes nothing – he reminds him that he tried to kiss him. Will says he knows what he wants and nothing is going to get in his way.
Scarlett comes to the shoot and Bucky asks how she’s feeling. She’s not looking good. She asks for a moment alone and pops one of those pills from Liam. Uh-oh.
Avery complains about the pillows on the couch as he watches a movie with Juliette. He tells her he has to go set up for Deacon’s show and begs her to come along. She tells him she’ll just watch his artsy fartsy movies she doesn’t understand. He tells her just because she closes her eye doesn’t mean she’s invisible. He kisses her and goes.

He says he went after her to beg her not to go. He says he loved her too much to lose her. He says she must have seen him in the rear view mirror and sped up and he did too. He saw her crash. Rayna asks why he didn’t get help. He’s crying and says by the time he got to her car down the embankment she was already gone. Rayna asks why he lied about it and he says he panicked and left her there alone. He’s bawling now. Rayna seems unsure.

She says she left Natchez a year ago but she’s not accomplishing anymore in Nashville. He tells her she needs to rethink things and that she’s actually doing pretty well. He tells her there are hundreds of people who would kill to have her Blue Bird job and life but he’s supportive no matter what.

She finds Zoe and tells her how good her hair looks. She orders food and a strong drink. Megan shows up next and he says he didn’t think she was going to come. He apologizes and she says he was right – that she likes to save people but that’s not why she loves him. They smooch. Megan tells him she gave up Teddy’s case and then Deacon is called to the stage.
He tells the crowd that they know his story and that he’s had some dark times. He says in one of those recent times, an angel appeared and he sings the song he wrote for Megan. Avery is recording and engineering as he sings. Everyone listens in silence to the beautiful song. Megan smiles warmly. Avery hands the headset to Juliette so she can hear what he’s recording.
Lamar tells Rayna that he only acted out of love for her mother and Rayna says she doesn’t know what to believe anymore. She says he’s been lying about it for years and Tandy… He asks if her sister blames him for her mom’s death too. She says he was involved even if he didn’t directly cause it. Lamar says now that it’s out in the open they can move past it. She asks if he has something to do with Peggy’s murder and if he hired someone to shoot Teddy.
Lamar reminds her he was in jail. She says she knows that he could have hired him from behind bars. She screams at him and asks if he tried to murder the father of her children. He looks at her and doesn’t answer. She tells him he can’t see her or the girls again and as far as she’s concerned both of her parents are dead. She walks out on him.
Will plays and sings a song at home when Gunnar comes home. He’s doing the song Gunnar suggested – the ballad. Gunnar listens and digs it. Will is really feeling it and looks all angsty. He stops and Gunnar tells him not to stop – he says it’s better than he imagined and it’s perfect for him. Will says he’ll never sing it outside the house.
Megan tells Deacon the performance was so, so good. Juliette comes to hug him and says it was amazing and she’s glad she’s there. He tells her you never want to stay too long at a pity party and she says it’s the only one she’s invited to. Avery tells him the recording was awesome and Deacon asks if they’re a thing – they nod – and he says he likes it. J asks him to go back in the studio and record with him and he agrees but only if she gives back his old furniture.
Scarlett is acting wiggy and Zoe asks her what’s up. She makes the excuse that she’s just super-busy.
Zoe comes back and hands the hiring manager a CD of her singing at church and tells her that she can really sing.
The girls ask Rayna where their Aunt Tandy has gone. Rayna says that she and Tandy and Lamar are taking some time apart from each other. They hug.
Lamar shows up to Teddy’s office to ask why he’s lying to his family about him. Teddy tells him that the person that betrayed him was right under his nose. He tells him he never had enough information to take him down. Teddy tells him Tandy was the snitch and that he’s going to make him pay for Peggy’s death. Lamar clutches his heart and begs Teddy to help him. Teddy just looks at him as he collapses onto the floor and does nothing…
THE END!
