Many WWE writers have given the Total Divas‘ Bella Twins hell over the years and I must admit that I have occasionally done so as well. In truth, they have been put in really tough positions most of the time. Take a look at the current Bella vs Bella story and you will see what I mean right away. The gals have not been given a ton of good things to work with over recent years but they are very popular on Total Divas! As for their in ring work, it has also left plenty to be desired historically.
With that said, Nikki Bella has come a very long ways.
Nikki Bella is a horrible actress and her in ring psychology is still pretty rough, but the girl has certainly grown in leaps and bounds in her ring work. In fact, she has been downright awesome in her latest series of matches with Paige and AJ. Given her progress, I wish the WWE would step up and put her in a good position to capitalize on it.
Here are several ideas to really give Nikki Bella a boost in the coming weeks:
Give the girl a legitimate feud already. Nikki Bella has not ever really had the benefit of a white hot feud like her sister had with Daniel and Stephanie. That said, few people get such good luck. Still, the WWE could build her towards a feud with someone that is based on simplicity. There is no reason for long, drawn out promos. Make it about her man John and let her ring work take center stage. Emma comes to mind as a good possibility or Summer Rae.
Give her a serious push in the ring. Nikki has several really good things going for her. She has an awesome look. She has a gorgeous body and she has a powerful finisher that seems believable and is fun to watch. These things alone are a good mix for a fresh run of victories. Have her come out and power through some big names. Mix in Natalya and some other names that carry weight. This will help build her up for a future feud.
Get her away from her sister – If a feud was ever needing to die, this one is it. Brie and Nikki are awesome together as a team and they certainly are marketable. I get that. Nikki, however, needs to be alone for a bit and find some success. This would only enhance them when they are together.
Nikki Bella has gotten a bad rap but I think it is time to turn the corner for her. She has some real skills in the ropes and I think she could actually do well in a well written feud. Just make sure she is off the mic for a bit and concentrate on her best assets.
