Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder, despite the fact that they have been broken up for more than a year, are still forced to see each other every day. Unfortunately, that means that all the difficulties of breaking up and moving on from your ex are present, but in a manner that’s difficult to escape from. After all, how are you supposed to move on from someone when you’re forced to see them every day and also make out with them on occasion? Of course, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder soldiered through the awkwardness somehow, and are now in steady relationships with other people.
Ian has been dating Nikki Reed for the better part of the last year, and Nina has just started dating Foster The People’s Mark Foster. Sure, a large part of both of these romances has been the PR machine behind the relationships, but ostensibly, they’re both in committed relationships with other people. However, we’re also hearing that it’s become something of a race to see who’s in the more ‘serious’ relationship. And you know what that means, don’t you? Engagement and marriage rumors! Followed very closely by baby rumors, because people love babies.
In all seriousness, there were rumors that one of the biggest reasons behind Ian’s breakup with Nina was because he wanted to get engaged, but she didn’t. On the other hand, Nikki Reed has already been married and gotten engaged, so you know she’s not averse to putting a ring on it.
And if Ian gets engaged, don’t be surprised if Nina and Mark Foster are a close second. There are rumors that Mark is planning to get engaged to Nina, but it’s hard to see whether these rumors are just in retaliation to the Ian Somerhalder engagement rumors, or if there’s something substantial to it. Ian and Nikki have been dating for a few months, but Mark and Nina just started dating – and haven’t even gone public yet.
