New York City police received a tip from an informant today regarding the identity of the four drug dealers who sold actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman the heroin he overdosed on Sunday morning in his Manhattan apartment. The NYC police obtained a warrant and and raided the alleged drug dealer’s home. Although the names of the dealer, or dealers, have not yet been revealed, the informant states that on of the dealers is actually a musician for a famous rapper.
TMZ’s sources tell them, “the heroin user told cops he buys from the same dealer Hoffman frequented and sometimes saw Hoffman in the dealer’s apartment. The informant says Hoffman would buy “bundles” of heroin at a time … twice a week.”
The informant also told the NYC police that when Hoffman’s alleged dealers run out of product, they would buy from second dealer that sold “cheap s—t,” which was potentially dangerous and deadly to heroin users. This story does make sense considering we just learned over the last few days that Hoffman withdrew a large sum of money – $1200 – from his ATM and bought over fifty bags of heroin. Hoffman’s huge purchase could have cleaned out his dealer, so some of the bags he sold him could have been the “cheap s—t,” perhaps mixed with Fentanyl, the informant was referring to, and that would help explain his overdose death.
Update: Officers found nearly 350 glassine baggies filled with heroin – 3 of the suspects are male and 1 is a woman – Robert Vineberg, one of the suspects played sax for Mick Jagger, Amy Winehouse, Wyclef, Tom Jones and David Bowie.
