Philip Seymour Hoffman Death: He Was Drunk And Off The Wagon Days Prior To Overdose!

Philip Seymour Hoffman‘s death came as a shock to many, especially given the fact that the actor was recently in rehab to try to overcome his substance addictions. The actor, who died from an alleged heroin overdose, was seen in a bar just three days prior to his death, leading many individuals to believe that the actor had jumped off the wagon. Eyewitness accounts say that he was making multiple trips to the bathroom, a behavior that registered with the source as particularly unusual, and appeared drunk. At the time of this January 30th spotting, he was at a restaurant in downtown Atlanta.

TMZ reports: “A witness tells us … Hoffman was with a woman at the bar … and made “multiple trips” to the bathroom and the witness says it looked “sketchy.”  The witness says it registered with him at the time … that the trips to the restroom were curious. Another witness says Hoffman appeared “drunk.” And, yet another witness saw him at the airport later and he appeared “drunk and disheveled.”

We echo what countless others have said about Hoffman’s death: It saddens us to no end. This actor was incredibly talented and it’s a shame that his demons ended up getting the best of him in the long run. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends as they mourn his loss.

“We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Phil and appreciate the outpouring of love and support we have received from everyone. This is a tragic and sudden loss and we ask that you respect our privacy during this time of grieving,” Hoffman’s family said in a statement. “Please keep Phil in your thoughts and prayers.”
