Spoilers for Season 7 of Real Housewives of Atlanta reveal that it’s no secret that, Phaedra Parks, has given up on her marriage to Apollo Nida and will divorce the felon, or will she? In May Nida pleaded guilty to identity theft. He stole the identities of more than 50 people and laundered over 2.3 million dollars.
He will be facing an 8 year prison sentence that will begin September 10, according to Radar Online. He tells Radar he hopes his run in with the law will be an example to young men stating, “Don’t do as I do, but take my experiences and hope that it will give you a better platform.” Originally he was sentenced to 30 years, but his time was cut short after cooperating with investigators – in other words he’s a rat. On top of that he has to pay 2 million dollars over the next 20 years.
According to a written affidavit, Nida made fake companies, giving him access to databases to find people to rip off. He also opened fake bank accounts under their real names, then moved stolen checks from U.S. Treasury and auto loan proceeds into those accounts.
If Phaedra stays married with Apollo she would have to share his liability and help pay roughly $100,000 a year. Last month Apollo put Phaedra on blast during an interview on Atlanta’s B-100 radio station. Angry at her for not showing up to his prison sentencing:
“I mean my wife didn’t even f**king show up to my sentencing,” Nida said during his interview. “I’m still salty about that, but whatever.”
Apollo Nida was a jailbird before he and Phaedra Parks were even married. Phaedra knew exactly what she was getting into – in fact as a lawyer she knew the criminal rat Apollo very well before tying the knot. What does that tell you about Phaedra? As seen on season 3 of Real Housewives of Atlanta, Phaedra’s costars didn’t agree with her being married to an ex convict. Despite their disagreeing her, co stars have reached out. Kandi Burruss tells Hollywoodlife:
“Phaedra’s doing great. She’s basically working. That’s how I deal with things too; when I have a lot going on, I just put more into work, I know that she’s promoting her book and doing the book tour and stuff like that and she’s not really trying to focus as much on what’s happening.”
