If there was an award for “Most Delusional Housewife,” it would no doubt go to soon-to-be-fired Tamra Barney of Real Housewives of Orange County. CDL has been reporting for weeks now that Bravo fired Tamra from the RHOC cast after nine seasons of petty squabbling and corny confrontations with her fellow housewives which are clearly manufactured just because Bravo cameras are in tow. However, Tamra believes that Bravo will never fire her, and has even boasted that if it weren’t for her the show would be a failure. Tamra even refers to herself as the “most talked about housewife” and bragged on a live talk show that it is her job to “make good TV.”
The bottom line is, Tamra isn’t making good TV. Her constant bullying – like we saw on the reunion show when she attacked Lizzie Rovsek – and Tamra Barney’s bickering has turned off viewers, not to mention her fake divorce. And, to top it off, she has no storyline or personal drama to reel fans in, her scenes on RHOC all revolve around her arguments with her fellow housewives or gossiping about her fellow housewives behind their backs. Sure, all of the Real Housewives shows are built on gossiping and arguing, but the other housewives also have personal storylines that reel fans in (like court cases, arrests, sex tapes, divorces. pregnancies), Tamra doesn’t have anything. Although, she has made desperate attempts to create storylines for herself that have failed miserably like her fake divorce from Eddie Judge, “I’m almost 50 and I want to have another baby” and “I have a granddaughter on the way.”
Sources have confirmed that the producers of Real Housewives of Orange County are currently shopping for new cast members to replace Tamra Barney. A source close to production reveals exclusively to CDL that, “We want a high-profile housewife, someone who has fans of her own that she can bring to the show. RHOBH landed Eileen Davidson of Y&R, we don’t necessarily need a soap star, but someone who is already in the headlines or tabloids for something other than just the fact that she is on Bravo.”
