Like any good network, Bravo is fully capitalizing on Teresa Giudice’s 15 month jail sentence to gain buzz for The Real Housewives of New Jersey. As such, they’re not firing her right now, but they are pushing production up to three weeks from now – in other words, they’re fully intending to take advantage of Teresa’s prison sentence to pack RHONJ chock-full of drama.
Teresa Giudice will reportedly head to prison on January 5th, which gives the network a few months to film Teresa breaking down before she heads off to jail. A source close to the production confirmed to Radar Online, “Bravo is set to begin filming in approximately three weeks. The producers want to make sure they capture all of the footage with Teresa and her family that they can before Teresa heads off to prison.”
The network has also forced all the housewives to come back as soon as they can, to bring the drama between all the co-stars to a boil in the wake of Teresa’s sentencing. Apparently, the network was actually planning to film all of Teresa’s co-stars right after her jail sentence was announced, but after they found out that Teresa would not have to report to prison until January 5th, they changed their plan. They decided to exploit the fact that Teresa Giudice would be available to film The Real Housewives of New Jersey until then, which means that much more gossip and drama to pack into their show.
It’s cunning and probably disgusting, but Teresa Giudice knew what she was getting into when she signed on to the show. I’m sure she had no inkling that she would be getting arrested and going to jail for fraud, but life’s not a bed of roses – especially for criminal reality stars that think they’re above the law. Teresa Giudice may yell and cry and throw tantrums about having to go on the air, but she should be happy that she’s managing to make some extra cash before she goes to jail for the next year of her life.
