For the three Beth [Emily Kinney] fans out there, we are extremely sorry for The Walking Dead season 5 midseason finale spoilers we are about to provide. Again, this is SPOILERS, so please turn away if you don’t want to join us in speculating about the future of The Walking Dead season 5 midseason finale show and its characters.
So first things first, we actually know where Beth is right now – in a hospital in the middle of Atlanta, George. Man, they’re never going to leave Georgia, are they? From the sneak peaks available from the next episode ‘Self-Help’, it seems like the story is focusing on Abraham, Glenn, and Maggie for the time being. However, the show will soon rivet back to the hospital, undoubtedly focusing on Beth’s reunion with Carol, who was also wheeled in as a hospital prisoner at the end of the last episode. Now, there’s still no word on how Carol got into this predicament, or how Daryl and Carol got separated. However, we are hearing – from a multitude of sources – that Beth is just a few episodes away from biting the bullet. Now, she’s a fairly important character and Emily Kinney recently got upped to a principal cast member, so I’m sure her death will have a slow build to it. However, I would wager to say that we’ll be saying good-bye to her before the mid-season finale, if only because of the rumors we’re hearing.
Even though the cast members of The Walking Dead were still shooting this season 5, our CDL inside sources claim that they haven’t seen Emily Kinney around for a few months. Now, a few weeks? I can understand. Heck, even a month is fine. But a few months? You could say that the writers decided to deviate her story from the rest of the cast, but after already separating her at the end of the last season, would they do that again? It’s much more likely that Beth’s death sets some other major event in motion, probably the group’s attempts to head to Washington, D.C. They were going to do that anyway, but there’s no way those hospital creeps are getting out of this alive if it’s their fault Beth dies.
Now we have another source, SpoilingDeadFans, who confirm that Beth will die in the midseason finale: No one finds Beth as a walker. There is a “standoff” of sorts. Beth has the choice to leave and has a moment of gumption (or weakness, depending on how you look at it) that leads to her demise. Beth ends up believing that the choice she makes is a necessity in the end. But Beth doesn’t envision things ending the way they do. Beth’s death will be a harrowing moment not only for Beth, but for Daryl, Carol and the others as well.
What do you guys think? Based on the evidence, is it safe to assume that Beth dies? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
