Right now, Tom Cruise will do anything to repair his image, including attempting to date someone who looks eerily like his ex-wife, Nicole Kidman. According to new reports, Tom is flirting heavily with his Mission Impossible 5 co-star, Rebecca Ferguson.
Apparently, Tom handpicked Rebecca after seeing her nude scene in the TV show The White Queen, even though there were ‘better actresses’ up for the role. The National Enquirer adds, “Tom keeps saying how Rebecca’s just like a young Nicole Kidman, but even more beautiful.”
Well, Tommy certainly has an eye for keeping them young and beautiful before they become brainwashed robo-brides, but there’s a misconception here about the actresses that were up for the lead female role in Mission Impossible 5. For one thing, most of the ‘better’ actresses up for the part actually turned down the role, including Jessica Chastain. Also, the producers were specifically going for someone a bit more unknown. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that the auditions for this role were actually covertly auditions for Tom’s next wife.
We already know that his people audition his romantic partners, and what better cover for his next romantic partner than acting as his co-star in a massive studio franchise? This way, she gets a career boost and worldwide fame, and Tom gets to go out with someone who looks like the younger version of his ex-wife. Plus, perhaps she’ll manage to do something to help his PR, which is at an all-time low right now.
Perhaps Tom thinks that dating a Nicole lookalike will remind people of the time when he was younger, when he and Nicole were known as one of the biggest couples in Hollywood at the time.
