RECAP: Tonight’s episode of Utopia kicks off with the pioneers trying to decide who they will send home this week, they have three days to decide. So far they have nominated Red, Bri, and Bella. Red isn’t upset, he actually wants to go home. He believes in being a free man, and he is tired of living in a village based on socialism. Bella heads outside and cries that she doesn’t want to go home. After the meeting, everyone gets back to work. Josh and Ernesto want Bri to go home, they think that she is crazy and two-faced and she is going to snap.
Some of the pioneers sit down to discuss what form of government they should take on. Kristen thinks that they should encourage an incentive based system and be allowed to keep their own earnings from their businesses. They decide to adopt her form of government on a trial basis, Josh thinks that Kristen’s capitalist government is just going to encourage everyone to be greedy.
Rob campaigns to get Red voted out, he thinks that he is destroying the barn and not taking care of the chicken coops. Josh argues that America voted Bri was the pioneer they thought should go home, and they had to have a reason. Taylor doesn’t think that Rob should vote Red out, because they need him in the barn. Josh is determined to make sure his friend Bella doesn’t get voted out.
The next morning Bella decides to take the calf out of the barn to give her some exercise. Bri stands and watches and Bella thinks she is judging her for letting the calf out. It’s Sunday, so it is time for the “Utopia experience.” Outsiders show up to check out Utopia and shop at the business the pioneers are trying to run. Kristen finds two men who are willing to pay $200 to eat dinner with Josh. Meanwhile, Mike makes friends with one of the outsiders, and makes out with her in the woods.
After the outsiders leave, Josh gets back to work campaigning to get Bri voted out. He has Kristen convinced that Bri is useless, and at least Bella and Red can be put to work. Meanwhile, Bri is outside having a heart to heart with Ernesto. She confesses that lots of people were nice to her today and she feels like she is surrounded with love and support, but she is really sad and feels alone.
It’s time for the pioneer’s profit meeting. They’ve been raising money with yoga, boot camp, and homemade jewelry. They count their funds, and then Kristen announces that they are going to give 80% back to the group and keep 20 % for themselves. After the meeting, Amanda is not happy with the funds being divvied up, she announces that she is going to compete against the other businesses. She yells that Kristen doesn’t know what it is like to have to support children. In a few hours the pioneers are going to have to vote out either Red, Bri, or Bella. Hex and Nikki gossip in the field about who they plan to vote out.
Red has been complaining of a sore finger, so Nikki encourages him to go to the hospital. He returns two days later and reveals that he had to have emergency surgery because he had an infection in his finger and it spread to the bone in his hand. He thanks Nikki for sending him to the hospital, because it saved his life. He gives everyone a speech about practicing proper hygiene because their immune systems are malnourished.
It’s finally time for the members of Utopia to vote out either Bella, Bri, or Red. They each take the floor and tell the pioneers why they think they should get to stay in Utopia. They are moved by Bella’s speech, and Red announces that he want to “get er done.” Bri takes the floor and cries that she doesn’t want to leave. Now it’s time for the voting, Rob votes out Red. Josh votes to evict Bri. Chris thinks that they should send Bella home. The pioneers go around the table and all cast their votes, Red receives nine votes, so he is leaving Utopia.
Rob calls Bri, Bella, and Red back in to the barn. He announces that Red has been voted out of Utopia. Red thanks them for voting him out, he has decided that this isn’t the project for him. The pioneers say their good-byes and walk him to the gate.
