Tonight on Bravo Vanderpump Rules returns with a new Monday December 29, season 3 episode 9 called, “What Happens in San Diego,” and we have your weekly recap below. On tonight’s episode Lisa Vanderpump advises Scheana Marie to invite Stassi Schroeder and Katie Maloney to her bachelorette party in Miami, but Stassi wants to boycott the celebration.
On the last episode, Jax pursued new SUR hostess Vail, but got caught up in a lie about his current girlfriend. James tried to clear the air with Tom Sandoval before Scheana’s bachelorette party in Miami, but Kristen’s lingering obsession was too much for them to overcome. On tonight’s show as per the Bravo synopsis, “Lisa advises Scheana to invite Stassi and Katie to her bachelorette party in Miami, but Stassi wants to boycott the celebration. Jax’s girlfriend Tiffany hooks the guys up with a VIP weekend in San Diego; however, a night of drinking and debauchery leaves Tom Sandoval accusing Jax of going too far.”

#PumpRules starts now. Stassi, Vail and Kristina are out for the night. Stassi wants Vail on her side. Katie and Tom S show up then Peter, the manager at Sur. Stassi says she’s doing a chill birthday this year and thought a civilized wine tasting would be perfect. We see Stassi ranting at past birthdays. The wine tasting starts. Stassi says that many glasses of wine in front of her is her dream. They toast to no drama this year.
Jeremy and Jen says they got a secondary invite to Scheana’s wedding. Stassi says the second invite goes out when they didn’t get enough responses and don’t want empty seats. Stassi says the invites are tacky and Vail doesn’t like the ugly talk and wonders what they say about her behind her back. Tom S says he got an invite but hid it from Katie because they were going through things. She’s not happy that he got an invite to all these events.
Scheana shows up to Lisa’s to pick up platters for an event and Lisa offers her tea but says she wishes she would decline it. She asks who’s staffing the event for women from Rwanda selling jewelry called Same Sky. Lisa says it’s a good cause she’s happy to support but isn’t sure about her staff. Scheana mentions her wedding and Lisa says she won’t help her plan it but Pandora is helping. Scheana says Stassi and Katie aren’t invited.
Lisa is appalled she invited Tom S but not Katie. She says Ken wouldn’t go to a wedding without her. Lisa thinks Scheana should invite Katie and encourages her to invite her to the bachelorette party in Miami and see how it goes. Scheana says this time last year, she thought Stassi and Katie would be part of her wedding. Lisa tells her to put herself in Katie’s shoes and think about it from her perspective. Scheana promises to follow her advice and leaves.
At Katie and Tom’s, Tom and Jax are outside trying to stuff their stuff into a car. Jax says Tiffany is putting them up in a suite and getting them into nightclubs. Katie says Jax has a playbook for these types of events – he tries to get people drunk then put them into shady situations. Jax calls Tiffany after they leave LA and tells her they’re on the way. Tom thinks it’s strange that Jax just told everyone they broke up and now she’s coming to Miami with them and set this up.
Tom says this is a guy’s trip, not about girls since they all have ladies. Then Jax brings up Vail and says he had coffee with her. He says he told Tiffany he had coffee with her and says it didn’t go over well. They tell Jax he was the one that Tweeted that he was having coffee with Vail even though he tries to say Tiffany found out because Vail tweeted. He’s totally busted. The guys make it to San Diego and flop on their reserved area by the pool and order bottle service.
Jax checks out all the hotties and talks to Peter about them. He says he’s ready to make some moves. He tells Tom he wants to make him make out with someone. He says Tiffany is now his favorite girl that Jax has been with for hooking them up like this. Peter shoves Jax into the pool where he chugs vodka. Tom says he’s going to get drunk, forget about Tiffany and look for someone to hook up with to validate himself.
Tom S and Tom tell Jax they have to text their GFs. Jax says he’s not texting Tiffany this weekend and says she knows where he is. We see Peter making out with some girl as Jax questions the point of monogamy. The special event is getting started. Francine from Same Sky asks Scheana to pick out some jewelry to wear around and tells her that the necklace pays for one year of school fees for a child. Ariana is tending bar and Scheana tells her to get some jewelry on.
Katie shows up and Scheana asks if she wants to come to the bridal shower and bachelorette party. She says she doesn’t feel right inviting Tom and not her. Katie says she’d like for them to try and get along. She thanks her for inviting her along. Scheana says she wants to get rid of any animosity and have a good time. Scheana says her mom told her to always be the bigger person and calls herself a friend collector.
Lisa shows up and finds Vail at the hostess stand. Lisa tells Katie and Scheana to get busy doing what they should be. Francine tells Lisa it’s going well and that the girls are great. Lisa buys some spendy stuff and gets a toast from the coordinators thanking her. The guys get ready to head out. Peter is flat ironing his hair. The guys are finally ready. They head to the club and order bottle service again. Tom is hoping Jax doesn’t screw the night up since Tiffany set this all up.
The guys are getting wasted and dancing then realize they lost Jax. Tom is ready to intervene. Next morning, the room is a mess. Jax looks rough and says he’s not doing well. Peter asks if he needs to go to the hospital. Jax falls off his chair and says he can’t let Tiffany know he got this wasted. He asks what happened and how they got back up there. He says he woke up with his pants down and no underwear. Tom comes in and looks upset.
Tom tells him he’s annoyed with him and Jax plays dumb. Tom tells him he brought girls back but Jax denies it. Tom says Jax has an amazing girl but had to go and hook up with the most bootleg chick from the club. Jax says he was drunk and doesn’t remember. Tom says it was assisted masturbation. He says he took the girl into the bathroom, f-ed her then she left. Tom says he’s not going to lie to Tiffany if she asks him about it. Kristina comes to Assist’s and says her A/C is broken.
Kristina compliments her painting. She asks what’s to drink and Stassi says she has stuff for Bellinis. She mixes them drinks and they toast. Kristina talks about how awkward it is with Katie and Scheana. She tells Stassi she misses her at Sur. Stassi says her life is changing and she feels bad for her friends still at Sur. Stassi says it’s hard to work there on nights when you have no friends on shift. They talk about Tom S getting the invite and not telling Katie.
Stassi says she would totally dump him for that. Tom S is back home and tells Katie they had fun but says Jax got sick. She tells him that Scheana invited her along to Miami. He’s happy Katie is coming and says that makes his life so much easier. He asks if she told Stassi she’s going. He says she’s betraying the queen but Katie thinks she’ll understand that these are people still in her life. He says he behaved but Tom thinks Jax did something he shouldn’t have.
Tom comes over and Katie tells him she’s going to the bridal shower. He says that makes things easier and tells her she’s the bigger person. She asks about Jax and Tom tells her that he f-ed a skank in the bathroom. He says he’s done covering for Jax. She says he did that in the room that his GF got them. Tom S tries to act like he doesn’t know it went down and Tom says he’s just afraid of Jax. Tom S says he heard noises but doesn’t want to get involved. He’s worried that Jax had shit on him.
Tom tells him that if either of them did it, Jax would be yelling it from the rooftops. He says Jax just does whatever the f- he wants. Tom says he’s going to tell him he needs to tell Tiffany and says Jax is one of those that needs to learn things the hard way. It’s time for Scheana’s shower. Ariana shows up with balloons then Lisa arrives with gift bags. She says it all looks gorgeous. Lisa is happy to see Katie there and that Scheana took her advice.
Katie says she’s going to Miami too and Lisa tells her not to let her down since she was the one who talked to Scheana about it. Scheana arrives and gets hugs all around. Kristen shows up next. Katie is all smiles and thinks she did the right thing by coming. Pandora is there and asks Scheana about Stassi. She tells her she’s going to ask her to meet up and chat. Scheana says she’s going to text her to hang out then talk and invite her to Miami.
Scheana doesn’t like that Stassi is still holding a grudge against her and just wants to try one last time to see if they can be friends. Ariana brings up San Diego and she brings up the girl that Jax f-d in the bathroom. Ariana says Jax should feel disgusted with himself. Pandora says she’s just glad she’s married and old. They toast. Carmen, Jax’s ex is there, and Kristen starts talking crap about Katie being there and all smiles.
Kristen says she thinks Katie is going to trash talk Scheana later and isn’t happy she’s also coming to Miami. Scheana comes and sits with them and tells them about Jax banging a chick in San Diego. Scheana says the most f-d up thing is that Tiffany set up the whole thing for him. Kristen asks who threw him under the bus and she says it’s one of the Tom’s. Kristen says Jax is going to get backed into a corner but is happy since she thinks Jax will then reveal that Tom banged the girl in Miami.
Tom S is getting a spray tan and complaining that it’s cold. Ariana says they both wanted a pre-tan appointment but there was only one and says she had to let him have it since it would be like fighting a hungry bear for food. She laughs and says this is the man she loves. She says he looks fat and asks if he stopped working out. He laughs knowing she’s joking with him.
Jax and the Toms meet for tacos. Tom S says he told Katie they had some girls in the room and says she’s coming to Miami. Jax says Stassi won’t be happy about that since Katie is her little minion. Tom S says they can’t party that hard in Miami. Jax says the girl at the club grabbed his crotch and told him she was just checking his size. Tom S thinks it’s interesting since Jax first claimed he didn’t remember it. Jax tries to say the girl was in the bathroom throwing up.
Tom says he didn’t hear her puking at all and asks why he’d go in the bathroom to help her puke. He says he called Tiffany and told her that the girl was grabbing him and that she puked and he kicked her out. He says he told her it was all harmless. Tom says this was Jax’s last desperate play and he’s full of crap. Jax says Tiffany was finally okay with it. Tom says Ariana would be pissed if he was in a bathroom with a girl. Jax says he didn’t f- the girl and would never do it.
Tom S for a guy that’s been telling lies his entire life, he’s pretty shitty at it. Tom says this puts him in a bad position because Tiffany is going to be in Miami and says he won’t lie to cover for him. Jax says he wasn’t even there but Tom says he was. Jax says just because things don’t look right, that doesn’t mean that what it looks like actually happened. They finish up lunch. Tom tells Tom S later that Jax is an f-ing liar and totally banged the chick.
Jax calls Tiffany and tells her he was just out to lunch with the guys. He says he drank too much in San Diego and put himself into situations that looked bad. He says he let some people get too close. He says he told her that some girls came to the room. She says he never told her that. Then he tries out the line about him helping a girl throw up that then grabbed him and he kicked them out. She says he didn’t tell her any of that and says she’s mad and doesn’t want to talk to him. She hangs up on him.
Stassi meets up with Scheana. They make small talk and Scheana says she’s been wedding planning. Stassi thinks her outfit looks stupid. Stassi asks what Scheana thinks she’s done to her and says she’s baffled. Scheana says she asked her to be part of her wedding and then heard Stassi was making fun of her. Scheana says she heard she was going to get the girls to show up to her engagement party in fake diamond rings. Stassi says Katie was the one who said that and they didn’t do it.
Scheana tells Stassi that Katie is coming to her bachelorette party. Stassi is surprised and says she didn’t know that. Scheana says she’s really excited about it. Stassi is upset and thinks Katie has betrayed her. Stassi says it sounds like Katie drank the kool-aid. Scheana says she was going to invite her along and Stassi says after last summer, she befriended the two people that hurt her the most. Scheana says she’s sorry that Kristen and Jax hurt her but says they are her friends.
Stassi also says she Twitter bullied her. Stassi tells her she has a life and Scheana admits she retweeted some stuff that upset her and asks if those are all the reasons that Stassi is upset with her. Stassi says she chooses her friends wisely and Scheana says she doesn’t have any friends. Scheana thinks she’s losing friends because she thinks she’s better than everyone. Stassi tells her she’s glad they talked and will have a good wedding but says she doesn’t want to be part of it and they don’t need to be friends. Stassi says so long to Scheana, her unitards and turbans and walks out.
