Aaron Hernandez is currently on trial for the Odin Lloyd murder, where the prosecutors are arguing that he pulled the trigger on Lloyd. However, a surprising new development [via TMZ] reveals that 23-year-old Aaron Hernandez was actually a witness in the murder, and that the actual murderer was someone he knew.
Aaron’s attorney argued to the court that Aaron was just a witness, and that he most definitely did not pull the trigger on Odin Lloyd. He stated, “He was a 23-year-old kid who witnessed something, a shocking killing, committed by someone he knew.”
Aaron has now been moved to a holding area, and it’s clear that he has several people sticking by his side throughout this whole ordeal – including his fiance, who he was seen mouthing ‘I love you’ to in the courtroom.
Now, it’s difficult to see if Aaron’s attorney is telling the truth, because attorneys are paid to lie, after all. However, if Aaron really was just a witness – and the murderer was someone he actually knew – it shouldn’t be too difficult to prove that he was not the murderer. If they do manage to bring in someone else and implicate them with the right evidence, then Aaron will get off scot free. Well, maybe not scot free – he could get charged with obstruction of justice and possibly being an accessory to a crime/murder. But the murder charges against him will drop, which will no doubt be a huge relief to him and his team – and his wife.
What do you guys think? Is Aaron Hernandez innocent and just a witness in the Odin Lloyd murder, or is his lawyer covering up the truth with semantics? Or perhaps they just don’t want to protect the real murderer anymore – who might or might not be even more high profile than Aaron, no? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
