Adele is rumored to have refused a collaboration request from none other than Beyonce herself. The Beyonce collaboration story circulated last week with claims that Beyonce begged Adele for the past year to hook up and make some music. Everyone is clamoring for the upcoming Adele album “25” so why is she doing damage control with the Beyonce feud rumors? In a recent interview with Beat 1, Adele said, “There’s a rumor going round that I turned Beyoncé down which I would never be so disrespectful as to do.” Adele went on in her bid to smooth things over by saying, “I’d never disrespect her like that. Obviously, like, Queen Bey ’til the day I die.”
For whatever reason, Adele has been a Beyonce fan for years. Back in 2011, Adele talked about her own music idol. “I was about to meet Beyoncé and I had a full-blown anxiety attack. Then she popped in looking gorgeous, and said, ’You’re amazing! When I listen to you I feel like I’m listening to God.”
Of course it’s safe for Adele to address the Beyonce snub rumors now. Her album “25” is already complete and ready to drop so there is no worry that Beyonce would want her joint track featured on the upcoming release. The new album is expected to be all Adele since the “Rolling In The Deep” singer doesn’t need to use other famous voices to further her own career.
Now that Adele has fixed the incipient feud between herself and Beyonce, there is always the chance of a collaboration down the road. Adele and Beyonce may join up in concert to do a song together. There is also the possibility that Adele’s voice may ended up featured on an upcoming Beyonce track. Since Adele is a huge Beyonce fan and the feeling is mutual, Adele and Beyonce might team up just for fun or with the intent to expand both of their fanbases.
Now that it’s album dropping time, Adele is doing what it takes to position herself at the top. Rightfully so too, it’s been awhile since someone with pipes like Adele’s has put out anything noteworthy. Once “25” drops, it’s all we’ll be hearing about for months and everyone in the music business knows it.
You just never know what motivates entertainers to kiss and make up. In this case though, Adele says there never was a feud with Beyonce and both singers seem to really admire each other. Instead it’s really just looking like Adele didn’t want to address the collaboration request from Beyonce until after her album was finished.
