Tonight on NBC American Odyssey continues with an all new Sunday June 7, season 1 episode 10 called, “Fubar Bundy” and we have your weekly recap below. On tonight’s episode, Odelle, Aslam and Luc hold an unconscious Frank in captivity. Meanwhile, Peter at last makes contact with Yusuf Qasim, and Ruby faces the reality that her mission is not yet complete.
On the last episode, Luc (Gregory Fitoussi) came to Odelle (Anna Friel) and Aslam’s (Omar Ghazaoui) rescue, and Odelle learned about the mysterious Frenchman’s past. Back in New York, Sophia Tsaldari (Orla Brady) helped Peter (Peter Facinelli) get closer to Yusuf Qasim (Anthony Azizi) and further exacerbated the rift with his family. Bob (Nate Mooney) told Harrison (Jake Robinson) the truth about Ruby (Daniella Pineda), which had unintended consequences. Suzanne (Sadie Sink) and Julia (Allison Mack) continued to bond, raising questions for both Ron (Jim True-Frost) and Col. Did you watch last week’s episode? On tonight’s episode as per NBC’s synopsis, “now with an unconscious Frank (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) in their captivity, Odelle (Anna Friel), Aslam (Omar Ghazaoui) and Luc (Gregory Fitoussi), must figure out what to do with him. Peter (Peter Facinelli) finally makes contact with Yusuf Qasim (Anthony Azizi) while Ruby (Daniella Pineda) is forced to come to terms with the fact that her mission is not yet complete.”

#AmericanOdyssey starts with Bob calling Harrison in a panic. He says Ruby killed his mother. He asks what happened and Bob keeps crying and says his mother died. Bob rants that he knows that Ruby did it. Harrison tells him to calm down and says wanting to blame someone is normal. Bob asks if Harrison is with her but he says to wait there and he’ll come to him. Bob tells him to be careful. He ends the call and Ruby asks what’s going on. Harrison says Bob’s mom died. She asks what he’ll do.
She offers to come with Harrison but he says no. She says she knows Bob doesn’t like her but Harrison says he’s fragile right now. Ruby tells Harrison he’s a good friend. He gets dressed and rushes out. Ruby ponders things. Peter is in an ethnic market following the Imam who says he shouldn’t be following him. He asks what Peter wants and he says he’s the only hope that Yusuf has of living outside a box or Gitmo. Peter says the other guy was probably followed.
Peter says he knows how to keep Yusuf safe but the Imam says he’s gone dark and he only hears from him when he needs supplies. He tells Peter he needs to go but Peter says if he wants Yusuf to survive this, he’ll trust him. He asks where he is. Luc, Odelle and Aslam drive into a town. They still have Majors in the back. They drag him out of the truck on a blanket and into the house. Odelle wants to tie him up but Lic thinks he’s not going anywhere.
Aslam wants to kill him but Luc gives them offer. He tells Aslam to go get petrol in the truck and Odelle tells Aslam that Majors is worth more alive. Aslam wants to shoot him but Luc sends him on the errand instead. Odelle asks if he had first aid for Majors’ wounds but all he has is beer. She walks outside. Luc stares at their captive and drinks. Odelle goes to the truck and gets her bag but notices something of interest in the truck.
She says she may not be able to save Majors. She asks why he cares and Luc says he just wants to know how many Osela are coming and if they’re coming for both of them or just her. They go back inside and Odelle asks what’s next. She asks how many people Luc has killed. She says she doesn’t get why he wants to keep Majors alive after he killed his GF. Odelle isn’t clear on why Luc saved him and calls him stupid.
She says he brought him to her to try and help Osela. She calls him a liar but he says he’s on her side. Ruby gets out of the shower when he phone rings – it’s Michael. He says she missed her mark so he put someone else on the Pakistani. He asks why she hasn’t taken care of Harrison but she says she’s waiting on the right time. He tells her by 6 pm tomorrow and that’s final. She hangs up on him and flops onto her bed annoyed.
Aslam looks around at the locals and sees a kid with a gun and follows him. He asks how much to buy it and the kid says he doesn’t have enough. He shows cash and the kid says this one is his but he can get him another one. Peter is on the ferry to meet Yusuf. He asks who Peter is and he says he’s a friend sent be friend who said he might be hungry and offers him a bag of food. Peter says if he wasn’t a friend, he’d be in handcuffs right now. Peter introduces himself.
He says he’s a friend of Sophia’s and Yusuf says he knows that name. Peter says he knows about Black Sands and they’re working to expose SOC. He says they can get him to Greece where he can testify. Yusuf says everyone thinks he’s a terrorist. Peter says they can show people the truth. Yusuf offers him a dollar and Peter says it’s a retainer and he’s his lawyer now. Yusuf says now he can tell him anything. He says he’s not a terrorist but no many including Abbas.
He says he knew about SOC funding the terrorist and says it’s a vicious cycle that’s all about business. He says Darnell framed him and is now a Senator. Peter says they can make him pay. Yusuf says the Senator will pay in the this life or the next by the grace of God. He asks Peter’s biggest fear and he says failure. Yusuf says his is to vanish like he was never there and says the US makes that happen. Peter says he will do all he can to protect him. Yusuf says okay he will trust him.
He says he wants to speak to Sophia personally. He leaves Yusuf his card and says he and Sophia will meet him wherever he wants. Yusuf promises to text him. Odelle treats Majors’ wounds and Luc asks how he knows she’s not trying to kill him. Odelle says he’s playing a dangerous game and will be dead before he knows there is danger. Luc says he’ll find someone else to treat Majors and leaves. Odelle stares at Majors’ lying there still.
Harrison shows up just as the MEs are taking out Bob’s mom’s body. He finds Bob sitting alone inside the tiny apartment looking at his mom’s empty chair. He says Ruby killed her and says it’s the only thing that makes sense. Harrison says his mom was sick and says maybe she just passed away. Bob says he got too close and taunted Ruby once he knew who she was. He says he was so stupid. Harrison tries to calm him down. He says he has to find out who Ruby works for.
Harrison offers to order him some food or call some relatives to come stay with him. Bob cries and asks what he’s going to do. Harrison says they’ll figure it out. Bob calms down a little. Aslam goes to buy the gun. He goes into a narrow alley and finds a man tied up and a gang of kids terrorizing him. They load the gun and spin the chamber then pull the trigger. The gun doesn’t go off. The man is terrified. Aslam looks around as the spin the chamber and pull the trigger again.
He asks the man if he knows how many chances he has left and says you don’t steal from us. Aslam hands over his money and the boys cheer. They offer him the gun to take a shot at the thief. He says he can have it if he shoots the thief. He says he’s a dead man and to prove he can use the gun if he wants it. The head kid tells him to kill the man. Aslam points the gun at the guy but doesn’t fire. The guy calls him a coward and says to get out. He goes to leave. He hears the gunshot and the cheers of the kids.
Aslam leaves in tears. Harrison goes to the Imam’s place and poinds on the window. He begs him to open the door. He says he still needs to talk to Yusuf. He leaves and sees someone across the street that seems to be following him. He takes off at a run and ducks down some stairs to hide. He peeks out and then the guys approach him. Harrison is surrounded. The men grab him and beat him. They hold a knife on him and tell him next time he gets the same as his father. One guy has a distinctive tattoo on his wrist. They hit him again then leave him in the alley.
Odelle stares at Majors and makes a loop of rope. She puts it around his neck and chokes him. His eyes open and he struggles. She chokes him then stops short of killing him. He tells her she can’t kill him and she says no. He tells her that’s a mistake. She says she wasn’t trained to kill someone in cold blood who is defenseless then asks why he’s doing this. She reminds him he was a soldier once and he says he still is. He says he’s fighting for his country and says she can’t judge him.
She says an American company was paying terrorists. He says so many people have died because she disobeyed a direct order. He says because of that, her entire unit was killed. He says he wouldn’t be there and her friends would still be alive. She chokes him but then Luc is there with a doctor and pulls her off him. He tells the doc to save him. Peter meets Sophia and she says her security is nearby but she didn’t want them to scare him off. She says he should be there soon.
He says he’s nervous because they’re so close. Darnell is at a meeting for a conservative coalition. He’s giving a speech. Sophia asks if Maya is all right but he says she won’t return his calls. She says she hopes he gets his family back and wants him to be happy. She says no matter what happens, she will always be his friend. She says he’s about to lose $40 million and he says it’s money well spent. He gets a text that says he’s not coming.
Sophia looks at his phone and reads the text about justice being served. Peter says they were the only ones that could help and wonder why he’s not coming. He tells her what Yusuf told him about disappearing. He says Yusuf is going after Darnell. He says if he’s arrested for killing him, he will have a public trial here and won’t disappear. Peter makes a call to Darnell’s office. Darnell is speech making at the podium.
Blake, Darnell’s chief of staff takes the call and Peter says there’s going to be an attempt on his life. Blake says the Senator is traveling. He tells Blake to call everyone to alert them. Peter tells Sophia to leave now and goes running for the boat house where the speech is being give. He takes off at a run. The Senator comes out of the Central Park boat house. Yusuf is there. Darnell is shaking hands. Yusuf pulls out a gun and goes for him. He calls out for the Senator.
He shoots at him. Peter hears the gunshot and then Yusuf is taken down. The Senator took the shot to his head. Peter drops his head in anguish that he couldn’t stop it. Luc and Odelle wonder where Aslam is and Odelle tells him that Osela will kill him and anyone who knows she’s alive. He says he can reason with them. She asks him to give her the truck and a head start. She says he doesn’t want to see her die. He says if they find out he helped but she says he can say she stole it.
He hands over the keys and tells her to go. She says she has to wait for Aslam and the petrol. He says she chooses to wait. He says he heard what Majors said and says that none of it is her fault – it’s just life in Africa. She says Serena. He tells her to save herself and walks away. A black SUV drives in the desert. A guy gets out and greets a local. He says he’s looking for an American woman traveling with a boy. The man says he saw them yesterday. He asks about a tall black man.
He says she was with a white man in a truck and points the way they went. He hands the man some cash and says to tell no one they spoke. The man nods and walks into his hut. The white man calls him a savage and walks off. Harrison goes to see Ruby and she asks what the hell happened to him. He says he got jumped. She asks who did it and he says it was the same guys who killed his father. She asks how he knows and he says they told him.
Ruby asks exactly what happened. He says he needs to use her computer. He says one of them had a strange tattoo with a sword and knife that he’s seen before. Ruby says it could be anything but he says it’s a private military contractor. He looks through some images and says he knows he’s seen it. He spots the logo and says it’s Osela. He says they killed his father. Ruby looks freaked out but Harrison says he’s okay – he misreads her emotions. Harrison says it’s the first lead he’s had in a while.
The doctor tells Luc he’s done and he pays the man. Majors asks where Odelle is and Luc says he looks better. Luc says he wants the Osela contact number and says Majors will tell them that he saved his life because he did. He says he never wants to hear from him or Oseal again. Majors asks again about Odelle. He says he doesn’t know. Majors says this is a mistake. Luc says she escaped and says she’s slippery and he’s sure they will find her because she can’t have gone far.
Luc says he just wants to go back to his life. He asks for the number and Majors tells him a number but then Odelle is there and shoots him in the head before he can finish. Luc calls her a bitch. She says he told her to save herself so she did. She begs him to come with her and Aslam but he walks off angry. Aslam asks about Majors and she says he’s dead. She asks about the petrol and he looks upset. She asks if he’s okay. He says he just found out he’s not a killer. Odelle hugs him and says that’s a good thing.
Sophia tells Peter she’s sorry to leave him with this mess and he says he’s not sure what to do next. She says he’ll work something out and she’ll help him. He says SOC is murdering everyone who comes after them and she says it’s bigger than them and she says she has to think about helping the people of Greece. He says she can’t take Baker’s deal and says if she does they’ll get away with everything. He says there’s another Yusuf out there and says he’ll find it. She says to keep her posted then leaves.
Ruby comes to see Michael and says Harrison knows who he sent after him. She asks why and he says she knows why. He closes his office door and says to never hang up on him again. He kisses her and she pulls away. He says he thinks she’s there to convince him not to take Harrison out. She says Harrison is under constant surveillance right now and they should wait a few weeks. She says she’s reporting from the field but he says she fell in love with her target.
Ruby says it’s ridiculous but Michael says he knows she’s screwing him and she says to get him to trust her and get her closer to Yusuf. Michael says she’s always been spot on but something has changed. Ruby says she’s not there to play mind games and says if he has a deadline, he can get someone else. He says he’ll tell Harrison that she killed his father and that she’s a killer. Ruby says maybe she’s changed but Michael says people like them don’t change and thank god for that.
Ruby says she’s not a killer and he asks who she is and where she belongs. He asks if she thinks she belongs with Harrison. He says she killed his father in cold blood and she says he ordered her too. Michael sighs and says that won’t matter to Harrison. He asks if she thinks he’ll forgive her and love her. Michael says he’ll just call the cops on her and says this is the only place that she’s safe and where the things she’s done are not only accepted but praised.
Michael says all he asks is loyalty to him and to her God-given talent. He says to tell him what she is. Ruby says she’s a killer. Michael says – that’s my girl. Ruby sighs. Aslam gets the petrol and climbs into the truck. He says no one has seen Luc and they wonder if they should wait for him. Then Luc walks up and asks for his gun. She asks if he’s coming with them. He demands the gun and says he’s sorry. He calls out and the kid gang comes running.
They surround them and Aslam says to leave her alone. They heard Odelle away from them. Aslam starts to go after her but Luc holds him back at gunpoint. The kids drag her away with guns drawn. They take her to a house and herd her inside. The door closes behind her.
