Ariana Grande has fired her momager because the pint sized pop star wants to start making a lot of her career decisions by herself. Joan Grande is still on Ariana’s team but she is reportedly taking a lesser role in Grande’s career. Joan will be taking on a “support role” rather than running the entire production from here on out. Is Ariana keeping her mom on the payroll just to keep her happy?
It turns out that a lot of the reports about Ariana Grande’s diva demands aren’t her at all. Instead, recent reports claim that Ariana is getting a reputation for being high maintenance but really it’s her mother Joan who is making all the demands.
In the past, Joan Grande has managed Ariana’s career closely and had her hands in every decision. Now that Ariana Grande is 22 years old, the “Break Free” singer wants to do just that. According to a recent report by the New York Daily News, a source claims, that Ariana “wants to be a grown up, she wants to make her own decisions, she wants to be like Taylor (Swift), who has a camp but makes every single decision when it comes to her image at the end of the day. So she’s made her mom less of a manager, more of a source of support.”
It’s nice that Ariana Grande wants to be a grown up now and run her own career but is that really a good idea? Don’t forget that Ariana’s mom wasn’t the one who suggested Ariana make some really controversial comments about Americans while licking donuts in a So Cal donut shop either.
Letting the “Problem” singer run her own career might be a huge disaster. Then again, it might be rather entertaining too. Will Ariana Grande be able to build her popularity like Taylor Swift without the help of a handler?
There was also news of a possible Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber concert collaboration. According to the same report, Ariana and her people are in talks with the Bieber camp about possibly bringing Ariana on board for part of Bieber’s tour.
Both sides are still working out the details of a joint tour of some type but neither Ariana or Justin want to take a back seat to the other. Instead, it’s starting to look like Ariana Grande may join the Justin Bieber tour for some of the dates as a special guest rather than a joint tour or as an opening act.
So far, Ariana Grande signing on for the Justin Bieber tour isn’t official and there are still a lot of details to work out. It will be interesting to see how Ariana handles the touring details without the help of Joan Grande.
