Dancing With The Stars dating/cheating rumors are already starting to heat up, but one couple that will most likely not have any sparks flying between them off the stage is Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough. Season 21 contenders Derek and Bindi have undeniable chemistry on the Dancing With The Stars stage, but the 17-year-old Australian celeb is taken. Steve Irwin’s daughter is dating wakeboarder Chandler Powell, and she recently took to Instagram to profess her love for him.
Bindi Irwin posted a super cute photo of herself cuddling with boyfriend Chandler Powell in a lounge chair on social media over the weekend. Chandler flew into Los Angeles so that he can cheer on his girlfriend during her next Dancing With The Stars performance. She captioned the photo, “He’s here,” the late Steve Irwin’s daughter wrote on Instagram with a heart emoji. “Thank you for always making me laugh, helping me to ice my foot when it hurts, making me tea and hugging me when I’m tired. You’re amazing.”
Dancing With The Stars tends to put a strain on the majority of the contestant’s relationships. The grueling rehearsal schedules combined with the required on-stage flirting with pro dance partners could drive anyone’s significant other crazy. But, Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell’s relationship seems to be rock-solid, and they have reportedly been dating since 2013. In a recent interview Bindi raved about her boyfriend to Australia’s Daily Telegraph, “He is passionate about wildlife and an extraordinary wakeboarder. We are excited to be achieving more conservation work together. I feel lucky to have him in my life.”
Hopefully, Bindi and Chandler won’t suffer the same fate as last season’s Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff. Sadly, it looks like the teenagers’ relationship is stronger than The Bachelor’s and his fiancée, so they shouldn’t have to worry.
