Bindi Irwin Discusses Steve Irwin’s Death, Reveals Father Is Her Biggest Motivation: Continues Conservation Work Post DWTS Stint

The ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 21 finale will air on ABC on Monday November 24th, and we will learn whether frontrunner Bindi Irwin and her pro partner Derek Hough will win this season’s Mirror Ball Trophy. Bindi, the daughter of Steve Irwin (The Crocodile Hunter), has been a front runner for Season 21 of ‘DWTS’ since the premiere this Fall – and at this stage anyone would be shocked if she didn’t win the ABC dance competition.

Bindi Irwin and her pro partner Derek Hough recently sat down with Closer Magazine to discuss Bindi’s stint on ‘Dancing With The Stars,’ and what she has planned next for her career. Bindi explained, “I want to truly share my message of conservation and hopefully inspire others. No matter what I do, I just want to make sure that is always at the forefront.”

The Australian native is truly following in her late father Steve Irwin’s footsteps, she also discussed losing him to a tragic stingray accident when she was young. Bindi confessed, “I feel like my dad is still with us. That is something I never really talked about or dwelled on before I feel like I’m ready to share my story. I feel closest to my dad when I’m with my family. I think that as a family we try to make sure that his legacy continues. I really hope that Dad would be proud.”

Just like ‘Dancing With The Stars’ viewers at home, Derek Hough is in awe of his partner Bindi. During their interview with Closer Derek raved, “She’s so unique. It’s just so rare to find someone who knows who they are and knows their purpose and has energy that’s just infectious and inspiring.” Bindi’s personality and charisma has definitely carried her through Season 21 of Dancing With The Stars. Do you think that she will be crowned the winner tonight during the finale? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
