Bobbi Kristina Brown’s $20 million inheritance war is going to be a long process filled with drama, secrets, and revelations that will undoubtedly have the Houston family fight for every dime. Legally, Pat and Cissy Houston, along with Whitney’s surviving brothers, will get the lion’s share, but the Brown family has finally resurfaced to fight for Whitney Houston’s money.
The essentially never-ending flow of money left to Bobbi Kristina is up for grabs and everyone close to the doomed 22-year-old daughter of Whitney Houston is making a play for the inheritance. Bobbi did not have a will, which is causing major problems when it comes to the estate Whitney left her only daughter. Typically, Whitney Houston’s will would simply dictate who would inherit the millions, but laws are different from state to state, and the terms can be disputed in court.
An attorney explained to USA Today that Bobby Brown may see some of the inheritance money despite Whitney Houston’s will leaving everything to the Houston family. Generally, since Bobby and Whitney divorced in 2007, Brown wouldn’t be entitled to any of the inheritance. But, Atlanta estate lawyer Bruce Gaynes, added that Bobby could be entitled to whatever Bobbi Kristina had received, so far, from her mother’s will saying, “For the purposes of Bobbi Kristina’s estate, he is the sole beneficiary, if she has no husband and if she has no will.” Nick Gordon was rumored to have his sights set on Bobbi’s inheritance, but since they were never legally married, he will have no legal rights, unless he has some sort of handwritten evidence left by Bobbi Kristina.
Like Nick, the Brown family has begun their campaign in Bobbi Kristina Brown’s $20 million inheritance war. Bobby Brown returned to the public eye with a stint on ‘The Real’ in which he was careful not to “call anybody out,” but begged the District Attorney to look at Bobbi Kristina’s wrongful death case closely.
Leolah Brown, arguably the most vocal Brown family member, participated in an interview with ‘Inside Edition’ slamming Bobbi Kristina Brown’s funeral calling it “bizarre” after Pat Houston created a Sweet 16 style party. “The whole set up of the funeral was wrong,” Leolah explained. “Krissy was surrounded by people that cared, nothing, nothing for her… They didn’t care about her, just like they didn’t care about Whitney.
Typically, Leolah is a lot less restrained and even called Pat Houston out during the service for Bobbi Kristina. However, her interview was more calm and collected than her usual tirade. It’s clear the Brown family is gearing up to fight for Whitney Houston’s money.
