Is there hope for Bobbi Kristina Brown? That’s the question on everyone’s mind after the 21-year-old daughter of the late Whitney Houston was found face-down in a tubful of water on Saturday. Some news outlets have reported that Bobbi Brown was brain dead and had been taken off life support. However, her father, Bobby Brown, dismissed those reports with a recent statement to the media. In fact, he called them “a flat-out lie.”
According to Radar Online, no one will be pulling the plug anytime soon. Bobbi’s reportedly been in a medically-induced coma to reduce swelling in her brain. She’s currently at Emory University Hospital, which is one of the best neurological facilities in the country. Her family can take comfort in knowing that doctors are doing everything they can to give Bobbi a fighting chance for survival. She has specialists working around the clock to give her the care she needs.
In addition to a top-notch medical team, Bobbi has plenty of family and friends surrounding her. If she can somehow sense their presence, at least know she’ll know there are people in her corner. The circumstances surrounding her incident seem to point to a drug-related suicide attempt. Some sources close to the family say she’d been depressed recently. Her depression is understandable considering the upcoming anniversary of her mother’s death. Whitney died on February 11, 2012, of accidental drowning due to heart disease and cocaine use. It appears Bobbi was on a mission to take a similar path and end her life.
Despite Bobbi’s apparent suicide attempt, her family is not about to let her go without a fight. Everyone is said to have gathered around her bedside to pray and sing uplifting hymns. They’ve even been singing some of Whitney’s songs in hopes of bringing Bobbi back. The Browns and Houstons seem to be clinging to the hope that she’ll pull through.
